We visited Tjapukai as part of a tour with Bretts Outback Tasting tour so our stay was only brief. We were served an exclusive moring tea of damper, local jams and tropical fruits. The spread was excellent and very interesting and tasty. We will go back to experience the aboriginal experience another time.

Went to the evening meal and 'show'. This was a great experience. Amazing to learn a little about aboriginal culture and to be given the opportunity to get involved. Also the food after was delicious.

This place really did not live up to its billing and lacked authenticity. Arrive approx 0930 when the place opened, they promptly told us it was shutting at 1230 so needed to schedule visits to exhibits in half planned time. Arriving at breakfast thought would have a bite to eat but all that was available were steak pies. Went to... More

A wonderful half day spent with some of the members of the Tjapukai tribe. The creation story, boomerang painting and the spear/boomerang/didgeridoo lessons were great for our family. Thank you Rainforest Girl for your time, this is a great trip and recommend for all, particularly if you've been to Kuranda which is the centre of the tribe.

Had a morning visit to this abororigine culture experience. Attended various demonstrations, aboriginal shows and even had a go at throwing a spear and a boomerang. This was concluded with a very tasty buffet lunch which included chicken and beef that had been cooked in an underground fire pit, also sampled kangaroo meat. An educational experience which we all enjoyed.

you cannot go to Australia without learning about Aboriginal culture. This was a perfect venue to learn about one of the hundreds of tribes Australia has. The people running the shows/demonstration were excellent and we thought it was very well done. Yes touristy but our children learned a great deal about the history and culture of Australian aboriginals.

Tonight family enjoyed the Tjupaki night fire experience: videos give a brief history of the local indigenous people, and performers entertain and teach about some of their dances and ceremonies - including audience participation! Followed by a buffet dinner including prawns, reef fish, kangaroo, crocodile plus other meats - with assorted salads - and assorted desserts. All the staff were... More

Interesting to discover something more on the aborigenal culture and habits. A litlle too expensive, 160 $ for 2 adults and 1 kid for 2 hours, where you see a couple of shows, but all attractions in this region are overpriced.
