Very interesting tour. Now know a lot more about how coffee gets to my cup. Family business also had a very good lunch. Great people whose farm has been in existence for many generations. Recommend worth your time

Very educational, too. I'll definitely recommend this place to our friends. Their coffee tastes wonderful. I hope I can get it in the US and Japan.

We visited mid December 2016 with our two granddaughters (teens). The tour was very informative and enjoyable. Gabriel worked very hard and packed our time there with so much information as well providing a good hands on experience. We stayed for the lunch which was delicious and authentic with very generous portions. When we first signed up for the tour... More

El Toledo is an organic coffee tour in Atenas. The guide and tour is very interesting and gives you an honest opinion on organic farming in general and for their coffee. You get to do a blind taste test on light, medium and dark roasts and if they have it available make sure to try their traditional lunch afterward the... More

Took my wife and 2 teen daughters on this tour today. We had been looking at other coffee tours with large coffee companies but the tripadvisor reviews sold us on this one. The place is a little out of the way and the road is "paved" by Costa Rican standards, which is to say they have patches on their patches.... More

Truly this was one of our family's very favorite parts of our 10 days in Costa Rica. The family was authentic and wonderful and the tour itself was very educational. I learned things not only about coffee beans and trees that I didn't know, but also about my own tastes! We took our two kiddos (aged 9 and 7) and... More

This was an outstanding and informative tour. A bit rugged in walking the trail in the coffee groves, but well worth the effort. Our host provided comprehensive, well informed information about sustainable farming practices and the concept of "Biodiversity" in his coffee groves (fields?). The tour includes a delicious opportunity to do a taste test of different roasts of coffee-... More

Gabriel and family have put their heart and soul into their farming - we learned so much about biodiversity farming and things about coffee we never knew. Wear long pants and sneakers as you will walk paths through the fields and put on bug repellant (something I wish I was told) You will really enjoy watching the roasting and taste... More

This was a very informative coffee tour. I'd been to the other "big name" coffee tour ... but this one was a family run outfit, very personalized. I learned a lot about the process of "organic certification" and what it means. I watched how beans get roasted, and change color. I tasted a variety of roasts from blonde to dark... More
