About
The Zeyssolff family makes wine since 1778. In the winery you will find a Boutique, a food bar, a tea place, wine tasting, a sensorial area and a projection room. The wine estate got into an encounter point where we exchange and talk about wine. The wine estate has a big history and the new generation wants to share its heritage and created a place where people get enriched culturally and emotionally. You can visit the cellar home to 10 000 liter-capacity oak barrels more than a century old. In 2020 following the complete organic conversion of the Zeyssolff Winery, we decided to renovate our cellar and present our visitors a new activity : an immersiv film in the cellar. It is a film on our personnal, and rather rich, family history as well as our work philosophy. It is screened at 180° in the cellar on the wine barrels. (mapping on certain sequences) with fabulous sound effects that wenable the public to be in total immersion in our story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E738_j7pwgA

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lovely winery with a knowledgeable and welcoming staff. Loved the presentation and the wine samples. Very nice shop. Did not get a chance to try the food as we were part of a Viking Cruise tour. I would love to go back and spend an afternoon sitting on their patio and enjoying wine.

Very modern building built on a very old cellar with huge wooden barrels, making a grand crust Riesling and several others Alsace wines. Wonderful explanation by the Sommelier who has a great sense of humour and a good knowledge of wine. We tried four including Klevener de Heiligenstein. Well made and delightfully fresh.

just came back from a rhine river cruise. we made a port call in alsace and signed up for the winery tour and tasting. it was one of the best tasting tours ever. the staff was friendly and knowledgable and the wines we sampled were terrific. we purchased a couple of bottles and it wasn't too long before they're empty. the winery has a wonderful and well kept arles, some od which adequate large and very old. most interesting cellar.i wouldn't hesitate to recommend the tour AND the wine!!!

Nearly 2hr bus ride, then sat on wooden benches in a drab room, where we sipped a few wines. Listened to a lecture that neither of us could understand and then led to a wine cellar where we stood in total darkness, watching a longgg family history that was essentially an advertisement. Then as per usual, exited through the extensive gift shop.

Thank you for your comment which is very shocking and offensive! First of all, you reproach us for 2 hours of bus to come in our domain: for information, we are not responsible for transport, you had to come with a tour operator or cruise line and his guide: it would be good to complain to them about this point. This does not concern us! Our service starts only from your arrival at the domain and ends at the exit of the domain! To begin with, we always welcome our guests in a small cellar (former cellar of the estate, which is why it may seem dark to you) which has recently been redone in black and wood tones, the style of the estate. You have all your visit, not «sipped» wine or whatever, but DEGUSTE DES VINS D'ALSACE. All our visits are really open to all audiences, even the youngest ones; without much knowledge of wine. Too bad you didn’t understand what they were trying to explain to you. You should have asked your guide to explain again— or to us even when you have returned to the shop. We are always there for our guests. As for the cellar: for info, you had the chance to visit a historical cellar still in operation to this day which dates back to 1850. The barrels are still used to make the wines of our estate and have the same age (very rare to date!). We also have a cask that was made for the Paris World’s Fair in 1900, a real collector’s item. Everything is highlighted by scenography to bring out the drums: that’s why the visit is done in the dark. As far as the film is concerned, I don’t think you understood the subject: it’s not advertising. It tells OUR family history dating back to the 14th century. We are the eleventh generation of winemakers from the same family to take over the estate: nothing is invented. This film takes you on a journey through our history with its drinks and disappointments and also explains to you our work philosophy, and our vision of things to date. Finally, we always end our visit in our shop with a piece of kougelhopf. Everyone is free to buy or wine or not. It’s too bad you didn’t make the most of all these moments. We’re trying to give you a good time, my husband, myself and our team. All the other comments speak for themselves! we even received the National Oenotourism Award this week, only 18 awards in France have been awarded !!!

We visited this winery as part of a tour and it was very interesting to hear the long history ( I think two hundred years) and taste the 6 wines that the winery produces. The tour included a short video from the owner that showed the vineyard from season to season and each step the grapes go through from vine to barrel. The Winery has a gift shop with their wines and local food stuffs that will match with the wines. This winery is worth a visit. The surrounding area of small villages and other wineries and are picturesque and also worth visiting

A unique approach to a cellar tour, it includes a tasting, professionally made video produced for the specific family winery and a Q&A with the owner/operator.
We got to meet and socialize with the other people in our tour group who hailed from 4 different countries.
Everyone had a great time.
Nice to see a winery going the extra mile (kilometre?) to make a tasting/tour a little more unique.

No idea why it's highly rated.....came here as part of a Viking Cruise optional excursion. Was given 5 wines to taste and shown 2 fifteen minute videos - seats were these hard chairs that people were squirming in....I got so impatient I went across the street to the gingerbread museum during the video. I could have watched the videos on youtube. I have never been to a wine tasting presentation like this before.

Thank you for your comment. I am quite surprised by this one. Our approach to viticulture is educational. We want to democratize the world of wine to the greatest number, share it with wine lovers as well as with children … That’s why we chose to do the scenography on futs to facilitate our approach - this project is UNIQUE in France!! The projected movie is not a banal movie that you can find on YouTube. On the contrary, it is a film that was made by ourselves telling our family story. We are fortunate today to be the 11th generation of winemakers to take over the estate from father to son. What is far from trivial… Our cellar dates from 1850, has resisted the various wars and has an alignment of 16 barrels of bicentenary oak including one made for the universal exhibition of 1900… Obviously, throughout our journey, you could taste 5 wines of our Domain commented by one of our guide - sommelier. Too bad, you did not enjoy this moment that we love to share with our guests … Have a nice day and pleasure ! Celine ZEYSSOLFF

What a great family owned winery. Our wine "guide" was great, she had a good sense of humor too. The wines were great, the cellar tour was amazing. Not only do you get to sample wonderful wines, the video of the history of the winery was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our the entire experience, and would definitely go back !!!
