Before this visit I was in Karlovy Vary...pretty close same with Baile Herculane. Same perion of developing ,same kind of buildings ,monuments and SPA....If there ,all old buildings are renewed ,in Herculane all old buildings are destroyed. No any kind of interest for the history...More

From what I know, Austrian emperor Franz Josef (who made trips here regularly, as did many of his predecessors and their families) called Băile Herculane "the most beautiful resort on the continent" and it also was his wife Sisi's favourite place to visit and revisit....More

The center worth a visit even if it needs restoration. I said "Must visit" because of the buildings beautiful architecture. This is one of the oldest SPA in Europe, its history dates back to the Roman Empire.
