We were pleasantly surprised by our visit here. The well informed staff were friendly and accomodating. The museum is a treasure for those wishing to learn about all kinds of shellfish, not oysters and mussels alone. And the samples were great. Great rainy day activity...More

This museum was a bit boring. But the girl who worked there was so helpful. She answered all of our questions and brought the displays to life. I wish this museum had more interactive options. The museum only cost $5 for adults

The shellfish museum was a bit hard to find at first but just keep driving down to the water and you will find it. I understand it’s been closed for a few years but it opened again in mid June this year. A small location...More

This was our midway point on a 2 week road trip. We also attended the Tyne Valley Oyster fest and parade. The museum is small, but interesting.

If you are expecting a modern museum, you will be disappointed. This is a small building near the water, with a very small 2nd floor (stairs, no elevator). What makes it especially interesting are the women who staff it. They tell you lots about how...More

Though dated (as museums often are), my nephews and I loved it here. The guide was Wendy and she had an entire depth of knowledge and really allowed us to be interactive with displays. We shucked Oysters (well the boys tried, only one succeeded!).

Hate to agree with one of the reviews below, but indeed, this "museum" is not worth it. Exhibits are old, place is tired-looking, and staff really don't know much at all.

We did not intend to stop at the Museum. We just found it by chance. Our host was so knowledgeable and only $5 for the tour. Very interesting!
