Went here after villa staff recommended it. Nowhere was it stated that the ice was seasonal. Staff informed us it was the #1 disappointment season, after we paid for the ticket. Going down into the cave, it is really dangerous and some places I had to get on my knees to get through. I took my wife's hand and she was shaking with fear. The rest of the day our bodies were painful all over. Also the buses are very infrequent, so after the 20 odd minute cave crawl, you are stuck there. Only option is to take a 20 minute walk to the wind cave which is also disappointing, and still had a long wait for the next bus. Worst day of our trip...

This is not a place suitable for elderly, children and people with medical conditions and tall people. The cave is so narrow and slippery. The stairs can be slippery and steep. Those without good stamina will be in for a shock. Once you are in that narrow cave, you can only proceed and there no turning back. Despite how much you don't like to squeeze your body forward through crawling, you have to go forward. Do take care of safety if you really want to proceed. The final destination is to see a piece of ice. Not worth at all!

This is a terrible place to visit unless you are fit and adventurous, The attendant at the gate didn't warn us enough about the danger. Our previous experience with lava ice cave was in Jeju and that was a very pleasant and tourist friendly experience. Do not carry any backpacks or bags inside, because you need to crawl through holes. I have to turned back because i was having my backpack and frankly it's too small and dangerous to go in. Seriously, you can die in here. Not worth it. They should have take all the photos and show the danger to tourists outside instead of making people realized inside when its too late.

Visited as part of our bus tour. I didn't enter the caves as not a fan of dark confined spaces. If you have mobility issues would give it a miss, as crouching over is required on part of the walk, the rest of our party enjoyed it. Nice wee gift shop;)

As they are so near to each other 5mins by car), we decide to drive into the ice cave first.
When visit the wind cave, we discover it is easier and safer to move in the wind cave. And there is ice too!

It's cool to see the cave but... honestly it takes maybe 5 mins in and out of his cave, and the ice inside was all man-made. I was expecting more ...

Just go to the wind cave and miss this, unless you like crawling under rocks and getting muddy.

The cave was deep down and narrow at certain points. It was freezing cold (true to its name). I highly recommend getting the helmet and boots if you don't want to hit your head and importantly, get your shoes dirty. The cave is muddy at certain points as I think it's wet all year round. I found out later that the Ice Cave is near (or in) the (in)famous Aokigahara Forest. I felt somewhat broody after I came out of the cave when walking back to the main area to return my helmet and boots.

It is nice. But don't count on it taking any time on your agenda. 15 minutes from engine stop to engine start.
Some ice is left underground... we were there in August, so they padded the cave with artificial ice as well.
If you are driving past, take these 15 minutes to stretch your legs. Otherwise, don't bother.

In one word - don’t. It’s a complete waste of time and money. You’re through in minutes & it takes longer crawling on your knees, almost, getting grubby than it takes to look at the cut ice blocks you see when there. 0/10

You say it is slippery... We are visiting in April and wondered if the tour provides crampons to fit over shoes? I am 76 years old and nervous about sliding or falling. Thank you, Jan

最好下雪冬季去畢竟是看冰，外面有安全帽雨鞋可以使用，雖然會滑但是裡面不大小小一點慢慢來還是可以的，裡面有些地方要蹲著走，如果身上有傷或者行動不方便建議不要進去。

I think holding a baby is not good in the cave cause when I was in the cave it was slippery in the middle.
