- Jwala GurungFujikawaguchiko-machi, Japan23 contributionsViewpoint: Fuji-Kawaguchiko Lake & Mt. FujiThe Japanese town of Fujikawaguchiko is home to Oishi Park, which is also known as Oishi Kogen. Attracting visitors with its breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and its reflection in the peaceful lake, it is situated at the foot of Mount Fuji on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi. The Kawaguchiko Sightseeing Bus Red-Line departs from Kawaguchiko Station Platform 1 and stops at stop 22, which is the final destination for the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center and Oishi Park. Taking a bus costs 480 yen and takes approximately 27-30 minutes. Plus points: •Flower Garden. •Free Entrance and Parking •Souvenir and Eateries Shops •Walking Trail Beside the Lake •Bus stop beside the main roadVisited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 23 November 2023
- Samuel PasaribuBekasi, Indonesia3,272 contributionsThick cloud and no flowerWe visited this place in day trip Tokyo - Mt. Fuji and became last stop before back to Tokyo. Actually we can see Mt. Fuji sunset here. Unfortunately the clouds were very thick that afternoon so we couldn’t see the mountain clearly. The flowers weren't blooming at that time so the garden view was ordinary. Maybe it will be more beautiful if you visit this place in spring.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 8 January 2024

However it does have amenities. A cafe, a place selling icecream and a W.C. A place to call at to take a quick photograph.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 March 2024
- Raintree_ThailandBangkok, Thailand4,287 contributionsSome of the best views of Mt. Fuji you can get!The small Oishi Park offers fantastic views of Mt. Fuji, with flowers or grasses in the foreground and looking out over Lake Kawaguchi toward the mountain. It was a bit crowded when we visited, but not irritatingly so. If the sky is clear, you can get some great shots of the mountain from this small park.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 April 2024
- SydneyTraveller470 contributionsVery pretty but crowded with blueberry picking the highlightThis park is beautiful but not as serene as it appears in the pictures, because the lavender field is right in front of a busy car park and is crowded with tourists all trying to get the perfect photo. The rest of the flowers are beyond the restaurant/ gift shop building and are stunning and less crowded. We had the soft serve that everyone gets there (it comes in peach, blueberry, vanilla, lavender and matcha flavours). They were also selling the most delicious fresh peaches for 550 yen for a box of about 8 enormous peaches that were very fragrant and delicious. The best part of the Oishi park visitor centre was the instruction sheet on how to go to a local blueberry farm about a 7 minute drive away, where for 1000 yen per person you can pick fresh blueberries from the trees amongst the beautiful surroundings and have all you can eat blueberries for 40 mins + get a decent sized punnet to take home too. At that point we’d wished we hadn’t had the soft serve! We got lucky on the day we went and got lovely views of Mount Fuji🗻 but the best bit was the experience of blueberry picking,Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 July 2024

We were staying in Fujiwakaguchiko and drove to Oishi park in the late afternoon.
There was ample parking space. Kids had fun at the playground and watching swans by the water.
The view of Mt Fuji was fantastic from this park!!
Softserve icecream and souvenirs were also available at the shop in the park.

It is located at terminal station for red bus line. It has great Mt. Fuji view. There is a souvenirs shop and ice-cream shop in the park. We bought the ice-cream and went to second floor enjoying the wonderful Mt. Fuji view.

Excellent photo spot to see Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. There is a souvenir shop by the car park and parking is free. You can also get some snacks while enjoying the view of Mt Fuji and Kawaguchiko.

This place is one of the best places to see Mt.Fuji with a view of the lake. Fortunately, there is a good parking lot by the lake. A model of Mt.Fuji is located next to the parking lot and good information is written next to it.

Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center is a small building that allows you to buy food and souvenirs. Right next to Natural Living Center is the Oishi Park. Even though the flowers were not in bloom when I visited on 15 May 2018, the panoramic view of Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko with tall wild grass was beautiful. I imagine it will look even better when flowers like lavender are in full bloom. I spent around 1 hour here.
From Kawaguchiko Station Platform 1, you can take the Kawaguchiko Sightseeing Bus Red-Line to the last stop, stop 22, for Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center and Oishi Park. The bus ride costs 480 yen and takes around 30 minutes. The bus frequency is around every 15 minutes. Natural Living Center and Oishi Park have no entrance fee.

The Herb Festival is held now. Lavender are at their best. The view of lavender with Mt. Fuji are special. The Begonia Wall are also beautiful. 3 m Mt. Fuji of flowers is on the floral road. The blue berry soft ice cream is popular.

This park is the viewpoint of Mount Fuji. It is loacted a bit far from the station side. So, you have to take a bus to reach here. Be careful though because the bus only runs until 6 pm. If you miss the bus, you have to walk back for one hour or more through a nice lakeside pavement.

What do we expect to see on june 24 2018 at oishi park? What kind of flowers and plants can we see!

I am planning to go to Kawaguchi Area on early May. Will there be any flower bloom? Do you think its worth to visit Oishi Park rather than Chureito Pagoda for the first timer like us? Thank you
Written 21 March 2018
I have not been to Chureito Pagoda so can’t advise you which is better. But if you are already in Lake kawaguchiko area and not in a rush, you might want to visit Oishi Park as it is quite near (take red line bus). Don’t need a lot of time. I did it as last stop and then turn back to the kawaguchiko station.

I believe there will be some flowers in May like Phlox
However, Chureito Pagoda is more scenic... but better during Fall or Cherry Blossoms (late spring). It is up to you to decide but if you are in Kawaguchiko, the park is easier to visit.
