This beautiful place provides good knowledge about history of the village, handcrafted works. The Udon restaurant is also very good.

This replica village made old Japan come to life, with its lovely thatched roofed buildings and views of Mt Fuji, it really was a great place to wander around. Many of the buildings contained arts and crafts persons showing you how they made their items...More

This reconstructed village gives you a good feel for traditional architecture and provides a lovely foreground for photos of Mount Fuji. The noodle shops in the car park are a good place to eat; tasty and cheap!

It was a beautiful village made up of some houses that have been converted into shops, restaurants, museums and galleries. Unfortunately it was cold and raining when we visited the place last March 2017, so we stayed in indoor most of the time but the...More

We visited this beautiful place last October, 2016. The village is beautifully recreated, with each building representing a different craft; most with demonstrations. There are also trinket shops and a place to get a bit to eat. The crowning jewel, is the view of Mt....More

One of the best places to view Mt. Fuji. W e had a clear view of the mountain even after it rained so hard. Also, we tried the samurai costume and it was worth it.

Though it's not far from Kawaguchiko station, going there by car is a nice idea. Entrance ticket is inexpensive, but beautiful and comfortable. If you want to visit Kawaguchiko, don't forget to visit here, I think you will be happy to make such decision.

Our group of 10 included 4 kids (ages 9 to 14). We enjoyed visiting a variety of the huts and looking at handicrafts. The kids stopped to paint ceramic owls while the adults browsed more shops. One of our highlights included trying out the stilts....More

We love this place so much , enjoyed the time in this old village. There were many old Japanese houses with its own character in each house. They have lots of hand made shops around, also the local restaurants. Quiet, Beautiful scenery and very peaceful!

You can't miss it. This place is not big and the kimono rental is in the middle of the village. It costs, if I am not mistaken, 10-15 USD. Then you go out, take some pictures and return the clothes.
