A make sure to visit the falls while in Ghana. Truly an amazing experience. I would recommend wearing sandals with a back if walking in to the falls because there are large rocks that cannot be seen. The water was quite cold in January but worth the swim under the falls.

The falls cost 20 cedi to enter. Takes about 30 min hike on a path to the falls. About 60m high in my estimation, the guide said it was the highest in west africa. Very small for swimming but a few kids were doing it. One of the better things to do in the Volta region

Highest waterfall in West Africa. Interesting walk 30 min, level but some uneven/rough spots. If you are not from the area, you should hire a guide who will keep touts away for your visit. You can swim in a pond at the base of the waterfall. Waterfall drops from the top of an escarpment that is near or part of... More

Wli waterfalls is a beautiful sight in the thick forest of the Volta Region. The trip to the waterfall takes about 40 minutes hike through forest with an awesome scenery. After the hike, you may cool off in the river below the falls. Awesome place to have your picnic and enjoy the beauty of nature. The waterfall site, however, need... More

Having seen a lot of waterfalls elsewhere in the world, I am perhaps somewhat jaded. The reward after the 45 minute ramble through the jungle would have been enhanced had the area immediately surrounding the bottom pool not been so neglected/seedy and in places an open toilet. Even some of the ‘bridges’ en route were in need of attention. Perhaps... More

Be sure to ask for local advice to go when there is maximum run off for the best experience. Walking to the upper falls is a must if you are physically able. Ignore the guides comments about not getting paid and needing an extortionate tip. If you take a bathing suit you can swim if you would like to. Covered... More

This is a really stunning waterfall in the Volta Region. It's a fairly short and very flat walk to the base of the falls. The water is mostly shallow so it's good for wading. There are benches at the bottom of the waterfall and you can get a really great view. There was a man shooting bats when we were... More

I still remember this place like yesterday, the 45 minutes walk to the waterfall crossing 7 bridges. The place is amazing and I would absolutely love to visit again when I get the chance to. Absolutely worth your time.
