Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The sea is not as beautiful as in other parts of the island, but the atmosphere on this beach and in the village is truly local and authentic.
I recommend going there at sunset to admire fabulous colors, and then take a walk in the colorful village of Laboire, made up of colorful houses, bars and small restaurants. And here you will meet many inhabitants who are happy to have a chat with you.

This was a nice quiet beach, although I wouldn’t have gone swimming there as the water looked dirty with a lot of seaweed. Perhaps that was just due to the wind. We stopped at the Salt Fish Cafe and sat by the beach for a while before going back to the airport to go home.

Laborie beach is indeed very quiet and uncrowded, the water is warm and the shoreline mainly sandy. But, its certainly not a dream Caribbean beach. there are much better beaches in Antigua for example and .be aware that in many areas there are stones and rocks just below the water line that makes entry to the water quite difficult.
Some of the photos on here are a little misleading as a lot of sand has been eroded in recent times leaving barely a wide enough strip of sand at high tide and impossible to walk along the sand from Laborie beach to the next door beach park.
And whilst the locals keep their streets and drainage gutters clean with a daily task force, they seem to neglect the beach area where rubbish has accumulated over time.

A hidden gem , beautiful unspoilt village and bay, no mass of tourists and what that brings . About 15 minutes from the international airport. Well worth including on your St Lucia itinerary. But no ATM and restaurants/ bars do not take cards , this is a cash only place.

Excellent quiet beach. I stayed two days in Laborie, and visited the beach twice. There's a beach park at the far west end, and by a giant field is another good spot to enter the water. Farther east there are a few stormwater runoffs that I avoided swimming near. Plenty of places to access the beach. Residents' homes are the backdrop for much of the beach's length.
In the water, the sand goes for about a couple of meters, and then it becomes full of seaweed. Towards the beach park, it's almost completely rocky, and hard to walk out into the water.

I have been shopping the world over for the better part of 20 years looking for this place. I knew the minute I saw it. "I'm home," I said. I've lived in Laborie a year. It doesn't get any better than this.

Laborie is a fishing village meaning the locals clean their fish beside the beach. That results in a smelly beach with lots of flies. I have no issue with that - it is their beach, their place to make a living. Walk a little north to Rudy John beach park and enjoy a more pleasant beach experience. Great fried bread can be found in Laborie market. If you really want to find a beautiful beach go to Anse Mamin - the best we found on St Lucia.

There is shade along the beach in numerous areas. Put your stuff anywhere, no one will mess with it.
There is also a great restaurant across the futbol field (blue house). Cross the middle of the field and go up the steps to the left.
