If you visit Panhala fort and you skip this place then your visit is worthless... A small beautifully developed nature park on the top of Panhala is a real refreshing experience for your mind... Even after this year’s heavy rainfall this garden is so neatly maintained with wide variety of flora n fauna. There is a forest guest house available to tourist as well with proper prior permission from forest department. There is a a very nominal fee of ₹5/- to a tourist. A person who sits their entire day and doing his duty , I really salute to him for his determination of job as many a times there is no tourist for almost 2/3 hours and he sits there on that fort all alone.

As the name suggests, the garden is in the shape of a box or platter. It is with big trees but hardly any activities.

The only thing between a visit to the udyan is the number of steps you have to climb and descend....about 130 from the Wagh darwaza. the udyan is lush green, with trees, a rarity in itself. Moreover, the kids play area is inviting and keeps the kids busy. the orchid garden is in its infancy, but the walking track around gives a good opportunity to the lungs, which are then infused with pure air from a forest like location.

Tabak Udyan is, in my opinion, the only good place to visit on Panhala Fort. It comes under Forest Dept. It is covered with a lot of trees and greenery. A good variety of trees and flowers. walkway created along the hillock for the morning/evening walks. It has a section for kids activity. There is a information center as well as a library. From the edge of the garden, you get a good view of the valley. Don't miss this to visit on Panhala.

The garden looked like a popular picnicking spot and get together point for locals around the area and was very crowded during the long weekend. Best to go there in the late afternoon in daylight. Not advisable rainy day activity.
