Fantastic scenery around the full 27 mile cycle on forest trails but beware the cycle is not flat !!! and is a moderate challenge. Note there is no facilities on the North shore but three on the south side. Overall a very enjoyable cycle path

Walked most of the forest and lake whilst staying at Kielder Straker Lodge for a week. Fabulous scenery and very well looked after and maintained. Fabulous hiking, biking and horse riding access.

As usual their website updated late. Forest drive closed from 1st November until March. Website updated 3rd November. No good when people arrive on the 1st to find forest drive closed. Several people arrived to be disappointed.

Hi, it's very difficult to get to without your own transport - are you able to hire a car? If you're a keen cyclist you could cycle from the train station in Hexham/Haydon Bridge, I think. Hope this helps. It's such a remote... More

Hi Peter, answers as above but I would add that a lot of the road becomes more of a track at times so it can be quite entertaining negotiating it. But worth it and certainly worth stopping along the way for walks etc. We... More
