Hongcun is beautiful. We stayed in Zhang Mansion Hotel which was just perfect to avoid the afternoon's crowds. Staying overnight allows you quiet time in the village. Best photos early morning and sundown.

Reached after a long drive from Huangshan City. A popular spot for locals. A half-moon shaped pond is a big attraction. It was dug by successive local leaders in Qing dynasty. Some Qing style houses (nice gardens) and public halls.

Interesting to see the old buildings and it remains a place where people live, so that was interesting. A few buildings are free to enter and learn abut the past. Most of the village consists of small shops and places to eat.
