Full of restaurants, ancient charming streets and dinner by the lake, this is a heaven for families with children. Some facilities like a swing mill and trampolines are put up for children later at night (italian time). Clean swimming, some free beaches. Bring your swim shoes: the rocks are hard on your feet

This picturesque medieval village, rich in history, is flanked by a handsome tree-lined promenade. Not only great for people watching, there are numerous and incredible cafés, pubs and restaurants. A former Etruscan settlement - as evidenced by the numerous necropolises -- this town is notable for many interesting archeological finds conserved in the town's archeological museum. There are beautiful castle ruins at the highest peak above the town that showcase outdoor movie screenings during warmer months. The Wetlands outside the village and along the wide lake shore are extremely important flora and fauna. Representing an area of considerable natural importance these wetlands act as a resting place for migratory birds including several species close to extinction. The most widespread plant species also include rare orchids found only here in the Lazio region.

Half an hour drive from Rome city, this charming place offers plenty of waterside restaurants and a very nice walk along the lake. Also many clean and well equipped lake beaches. The old town is a jewel. Don't miss it!

A lovely medieval village at the heart of this town - in October it was quite and very peaceful - plenty of restaurants to choose from and good walks around the lake. A walk up to the castle ruins offers spectacular views across the lake and countryside. About 40 min cab ride (70-100 Euros) to Rome if you want to do a split visit to the region.
