Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The view is breathtaking and more importantly the winds during monsoon... it was like chairs were blown away... (one who would have visited in monsoons would agree).... chilled breeze and some tasty bhajjis along with your loved one... nothing can beat this... do visit this point...

The place stands tall in the midst of western ghats. The place can be approached from Khandala & also from the naval base. One can undertake the trek, the climb is a little steep but trek is moderate difficulty. One should be careful while coming down, it might be a little slippery. During monsoon it's gets really misty & path sometime may not be visible. There are no shops around, so one needs to carry ones won stock.the place is breathtaking beautiful in monsoons. There is a small Shiva temple perched atop. The place witnesses huge crowd on Shivratri, a must visit place for people around Mumbai, Pune....

Visited Duke's nose last weekend with society's friends. It is amazing place to visit.. We started from Kurwande village. Its a small town where we stayed on Saturday evening and started the trek on Sunday morning. Route to Dukes nose goes from this village. There are smaller hills and lot of up and downs. After few hills there are couple of difficult hills. If you have kids with you , you will need to be careful on those last hills.
Final one is bit more difficult. But dont worry much you will be able to make it is not that difficult.

Overall excellent refreshing trek. Must do it.

Few things to note
*) On top there is lot of wind and it will literally push you. Be very careful when on top. Specially if you have kid with you. Same is for adults also.
*) You don't get anything once you leave Kurvande village. Make sure you carry enough water and snacks.
*) Don't carry too much on your back.
*) While coming back you dont need to take hilly route. There is normal route also available. Check for it.

We did the trek in the evening as a family of four. The google map led us to a village where we parked our car and then started the trek. If you are the outdoor person and like trekking you will like this one. Difficulty level is around medium. It takes around 45 min to reach the top. We spotted only 4 more persons throughout the trek. The views from the top were super. There is a small temple at the top which adds to the appeal. The place does not have railing all around so just be careful...especially the sefie types!

This mountain at just above 1000 m. close to Khandala is a good getaway for a quick trek that can be done under 4 hours. However, directions to the place are very poor and it is not easy to decipher what the travel guidebooks say. It is best to approach the place by asking for directions either at Lonavla or Khandala. As the mountain's shape is distinct heading in the general direction and asking for the route on the way helps. Of the different options, starting off from the village of Kuruvanda at the foothill is easy. At the edge of this village, a dirt path leads to the mountain. Previously constructed concrete walkways are mostly gone and one has to make do with the dirt path . The main challenge in a trek to the mountain is the slipper nature of the stones enroute particularly in the steeper sections. Also, there are no directions anywhere apart from the absence of any amenities - whether drinking water or washrooms. At Kuruvanda, a large residence has thoughtfully provided a large earthen pitcher of water outside its wall which is the last source of drinking water! The trek is steep in some parts and otherwise easy. The view at the top is very panoramic of the towns and villages below and the other mountains and ridges in the vicinity. There is a small shrine at the top. As one gets closer to the peak, there are fewer trees and no shade to rest.

Well, the heading gives u an idea...I look for easy treks n go like once or twice a year. Checked pics, reviews n everyone said it's a very easy trek. So took it up with a group.
It has a steep gradient in at least 5 patches...with d mud slipping n not much to catch around...I certainly didn't find it easy. Same for few other ppl in our group.
There was another group of about 30 ppl who were going back Midway.
Plus there is literally no shade on the way up & at the top too...so u can't really rest or take a proper break.
Writing this from a beginner perspective. It's better to pick up forts with proper steps n tea tapris for beginners IMO.

It was a great experience to be there on Sunset time. The crowd is too much to get a place and enjoy. But Visiting Khandala without being spending time in Dukes nose is unpardonable. But if you are adventurous you may climb to the top FROM BEHIND.

The road leading up to the hiking trail is not constructed well. Definitely can’t take car down the road. Will have to walk thirty minutes to reach the trail (which is fine if hiking is what you are interested in).
We went there only for tourism purposes and therefore, had to skip seeing the actual location as our car wouldn’t go in.

This is one of the view points that must not be missed by those visiting Lonavla/ Khandala Ghats. The view of the hill that resembles a nose is lovely to watch with view of valley nearby.

Great place to visit during monsoon and winters. The view from top is great. Ideal place to reach by trekking. Activities such a s rock climbing and rappelling are also organised occasionally by some trekking groups.
