It's the only one. A must-see. Usually that type of monuments are filled with glory, but here is an alternative case. It is the only monument in the world that does not glorify the winners but expresses grief and sadness because of the fratricidal conflict...More

It is a monument to the dead from the Serbo-Bulgarian War. Unlike most War memorials which tend to have striking poses of soldiers this one shows the sadness of war with a soldier almost lying down. There is not a whole lot to see.

This is an interesting War Memorial in the centre of Vidin. The area around has been cleaned up in contrast to the rest of the town. Well worth a look.

The area around the centre of Vidin is currently undergoing some much needed improvement work. Currently the memorial is very clean and tidy and the surrounding gardens are in good order. I am really looking forward to seeing how the work turns out.

This memorial celebrates the victors in the war of 1885. Yet all the faces show sadness and struggle. A reminder of the horrors of war. Very moving.

A wonderful monument to commemorate and remember victims. Nothing written in English so it is hard to fully understand.

We were walking around and stopped to view this monument. Very different for sure, a soldier laying down grieving for losses we can only imagine. Touching.

It will be nice to see the monument, but it is not so famous one. Be sure that you have nice time in Vidin

The Monument is located in the big square. It is a symbol of ever-last memory to all soldiers who died in the Serbo-Bulgarian War.

This statue is in the small town of Vidin. It is different from many war memorials. It appears to be a crying or injured soldier, reminding us of all the sadness and loss that wars bring.

Classical communist monument. Some parts are cracked. You just go, spend half a minute and go. Dull, grey.
