It is 35-40 Minutes walk and hike. Please take good shoes for hike. Beautiful nature, pure air, old forest, very nice and beautiful view from the peak. The puramids are not typical for Bulgaria. You have to visit. Entrance - 2 BGN for adults, 1 BGN for students.

We stopped here on the way back to Sofia from Rila Monastery. I suggest following the signs in the town for Stob Pyramids to get to the hiking. Google maps will bring you to a place to look at the rocks from a distance, which is not that impressive. You need to pay 2 leva to hike, but if you arrive after 5pm, no one is at the little hut to charge you. Kids are free. The views are incredible and get better as you continue to get higher. The hike is easy at first and then gets steeper. You will reach the first viewing area without doing any major climbing in 30 - 40 minutes. If you chose to go higher, which is worth it, the trail gets a little more sketchy with thinner paths and little to no handrails. On a clear day the views are totally worth the adventure.

I rarely give a negative opinion here. But this place deserves it. They charge you 2 lev at the entrance. Way up is not that hard, but there are steep mostly without barrers. The view is good, would probably rate it 4/5. But a way down is a literal horror. The slope of about 30 degrees, with lots of loose stones. Nothing to hold on to. They have put like 2 barriers somewhere, actually in the places that aren’t problematic at all. At some point there is a danger sign, but even way before it, it’s getting dangerous. I wonder what they are charging the money for? Because it’s definitely not for making this place accessible to tourists. Ah, just that you don’t say “oh, a posh person complaining about the hike”. Well, 2 days before coming here, I climbed Musala. Much safer climb up there, than here. Avoid. If you really want to see this, I recommend a proper hiking equipment and shoes.
