Few people know that Pinjore garden is open in evening with colourful lights all around. One can take tickets till 7:30pm, garden is open till 8:00pm. Restaurants inside are open beyond that. We enjoyed the different view of the garden in comparison to day visit. Its fountains, trees, canals, ponds and walls were illuminated with different colours of lights. Ticket for Camera is very high (11,500/-), so we have to content with our mobile cameras only. Lots of beautiful pictures taken inside by us. We have snacks in restaurants situated at left side in the end. Several fountains were not working, may be due to few tourist visit in evening. The location of the garden associates itself with Pandava, as it is believed they stayed here during their exile. It has been renamed as ‘Yadavindra Garden’ in the memory of Maharaja Yadavindra Singh former of the princely state of Patiala. After it was initially built by Fidai Khan, the garden was refurbished by him and restored to its former splendor. Unlike Mugal Garden of Srinagar, J&K the seven terraces of this garden descends as you go to end.

The gardens are great to visit during sunset. You can see the sun setting in line with the fountains. At night the garden is lit by LED lights and looks very good. The food available at the garden is very good.

We planned this place while returning from Kasauli. The disappointment of not able to take pics at Manki Point vanished here.Route to Pinjore is on left afer crossing the first toll from Chandigarh. You can see a lot of Ashok Plants standing tall. Flowers of yellow and red color are a delicacies to watch out for. The freshness of trees can be felt out inside. Fee for this attraction is Rs 20/- and you will feel you have got the full out of it.Ideal place for kids to visit and get some info.Half an hour drive from Chandigarh and a nice place for outing on weekends.Never seen such kind of gardens in India before.

Enroute back from our trip to Shimla, we stopped at the Yadavindra Gardens at Pinjore. The gardens are beautifully laid out, very akin to the Mughal Gardens of Kashmir. Supposed to have been created in the reign of Aurangzeb, it has been renamed Yadavindra Gardens after the Patiala regent renovated it. It is been laid out in seven terraces and is interspersed with beautiful pathways. The whole gardens are beautifully lit and are a treat to the eyes at night. Wonderful picnic spot to spend some quality time with the family. We had planned a short halt, but spent over 3 hours walking around the gardens, admiring the beautiful flowers. There are a few cafeterias in the garden premises, had heard they serve a decent meal but we abstained as we were in a hurry to move to Ambala. A must visit.

Chandigarh Pinjore Gardens, also called Yadavindra Gardens are 20 km from Chandigarh, 15 km from Panchkula, on the Chandigarh Shimla national highway number 21. Taxis and buses ply regularly between Pinjore, Kalka, Panchkula and Chandigarh.
The garden houses a mini zoo, historic places, Japanese garden, nursery and a number of picnic spots. According to the Hindu mythology, it is said that it is over here that Pandava brothers had rested during their exile. An example of Mughal gardens, this place is quite enjoyable with family and friends. You can even take a toy train tour which is not so worth but quite enjoyable. The best part of visiting Pinjore garden for me was getting wet in the fountains.
The most unique thing was Anti -Clock,which shows the exact time but pattern was different...!!!!

For me,Pinjore Garden is a must see..

This beautiful garden with lots of mango trees, chiku trees, other fruit trees and flowering plants is best visited in the evening to see the lighted water fountains. We went in the daytime when it was really hot. Though this Mughal era garden is a fantastic place to spend an evening for locals, I wouldn't call this a great tourist attraction for outsiders. You can use the time to visit other places. By the way avoid visiting Chandigarh on a Monday since most tourist places will be closed

If you are travel toward Shimla you probably pass the Yadavidra Gardens, also called Pinjore Gardens. You pay a small entry fee and then you leave the busy street life behind you. The garden is an old zoo, but now there is no animals in cages any more, but the first thing you see if you look up in the large trees are giant bats! Amazing to see so those old bats so close to you. You also see allot of birds.
There is many water ponds, fountains, pavilions and if I remember correct 5 etage with lovely plants in each etage. In the garden there is one or two restaurants, we only took coffee, so I have no idea of the quality of the food.
Even if I have been here one, I will stop by next time I’m in the neighborhood.

I visited the pinjore garden on my way to Shimla and it was beautiful.! I just loved it . U can hear the water from the fountains while u are just sitting and taking a break. The garden have many levels where you can walk and relax. They also had a few stalls where u can eat and drink. U can also find some fruit stalls where they sell the fruits from the gardens itself. The garden has a beautiful architecture and landscpace, and it was well maintained.
