Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very average. We have visited before and came away very disappointed. We chose the 50 dollars per head wine tasting and the lady who attended to us was very nice but kept getting all the wines muddled and wasn’t sure what we were tasting at times. She was working alone and there were a few other parties in but at somewhere like St. Hugo’s it’s certainly not what was expected. We purchased some wine but won’t be heading back any time soon.

Such a beautiful place to have a wine tasting. The wines were varied and the guidance and information provided by the hostess was interesting. She even accommodated a fair bit of F1 and Danny Ricardo chat and anecdotes.

My husband and I flew down from Sydney to visit St Hugo and the Barossa for the first time.
We were mainly served by Federico who was very knowledgeable about St Hugo’s products, provided fantastic customer service, and had a knack for knowing what products would suit the specific customer.
We bought a few bottles of wine to be shipped directly to our home in Sydney which were all received the following week — simple and hassle-free.
We also had lunch at the onsite restaurant after our tasting, and the food was delicious.
Overall a fantastic experience. But take note that the customer parking area has no shade whatsoever, so your car will be roasting in the sun — be sure not to leave any wines in the car!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a comprehensive review on your experience with us- Fed is a fantastic host and is incredibly passionate about St Hugo and our wines, as well as our stories and history. I hope you enjoy opening your wines back in Sydney, and enjoy them with fond memories of your visit to us in the beautiful Barossa!

First stop on our Barossa wine and food adventure. The cellar door and restaurant are in a beautiful building with the tasting experience presented nicely. Whilst the wines tasted were pretty good, they weren't worth the price. Prefer my Hunter Valley reds. Definitely worth the experience though.

Arrived at 4.15pm and was greeted by waitress who advised they were closing soon but happy to provide a couple of wines to taste rather than full wine tasting experience. Subsequently approached by a different waiter who accused us of lying about entering before the winery closed and asked us to leave despite us telling him that we were being served already and invited to seat. Absolutely disgusted

I'm very sorry to hear that this is the experience that you had when visiting St Hugo- as a priority I will be investigating with the team as this is not the level of customer service we are aiming to offer as part of the St Hugo experience.

Had a wonderful wine tasting experience in the downstairs tasting room. Enjoyed every wine I tried (which rarely happens for me). Then upstairs to the dining room for lunch. Was a beautiful space, open and light but still cozy on a cold winters day (massive fire place helped). Food was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive (Lauren, Fed and co.). Will definitely be going back.

It is so great to hear you enjoyed your experience with us at St Hugo- I will ensure your comments are passed onto the team. We do have one of the best fireplaces in the Barossa, a perfect place to relax, and dine on a cold, wintry afternoon!

Great wine and a good place to sit outside under umbrellas if the weather is conducive to that. Lovely inside lounge area and open fire. We didn't eat here but enjoyed our visit. Pleasant staff.

Words can honestly not describe how fabulous the wines are here. I am a read drinker and have tasted many and this one has got to be one of my favourites! I unfortunately visited as my second stop when I wished it was my last because no other winery (7 wineries in total) that I visited came close!

My partner and I did one of the wine flights and all of the wines were amazing, the GSM was our favourite (we took some home!). Next time I would definitely do lunch, I heard very good things from people we met on our journey about the food.

The atmosphere is amazing, the grounds so beautiful. We could have sat there all day drinking their wine and just soaking up the beautiful surroundings.

This is a high end winery that does everything well. The tasting room experience is relaxed and well thought out. Instead of pouring each wine separately, they provide all of them on a board that is conveniently labelled. This allows you to go back and retaste and compare. Our server/guide was knowledgeable and made some excellent suggestions for other wineries in the Barossa Valley. Bonus points for having beautiful and clean bathrooms.

We visited the winery today and met the wonderful Daniel.
He is not only very knowledgable about the wine but the history and the lovely building.
Thank you Daniel for the hospitality
