Opted for both Jatraprosad watch tower and early morning jeep safari. Was lucky to see bisons in both. In Jatraprosad tour, also saw wild boars, elephant, bisons. Saw barking deer, sambar deer in Jatraprosad. Apart from this saw many peacocks. Overall a fruitful experience. Also saw birds like Indian hornbill.

Jungle safari and flora and fauna watch
Mar. 2021
This trip called Jatraprasad safari involves safari on Maruti Gypsy vehicle through the forest. Various kinds of birds, deers, elephants and bisons are likely to be visible during the safari.
From the watchtower, sometimes one-horned rhinos could be spotted if lucky as they keep bait near by for the rhinos to visit. (But you need to be very lucky to spot the same)

Watch tower tour and Jungle safari inside Gorumara
Oct. 2020
Gorumara National Park is located in the northern part of West Bengal, India. It is a medium-sized park with grasslands and forests. It is primarily known for its population of Indian one horned rhinoceros. We went there during our Dooars tour after lockdown.

The best time to visit this place is between November and March when the weather remains pleasant and chances of spotting wildlife is also more. The forest remains closed during monsoon season.

This national park is situated near Lataguri. We did Jatraprasad watch tower tour and jungle safari tour inside Gorumara national park which has a high tourist demand. The tours are arranged in different slots. To get the forest permit for the tours one photo ID card and one xerox of the photo ID is required.Detailed video of both the tours are there on my YT Channel TravellersLens .You can have a look.
Although spotting wildlife inside a forest is totally based on luck, we were lucky enough to spot some. This was a refreshing trip after lockdown.

Another place for Rhinos
Dec. 2019 • Family
This national park is famous for one-horned Rhinos. Situated at foothill of himalaya, this place is also the natural habitation of Elephant & Leopards. Surrounding area is really picturesque. Lush green tea estates discretely spread within the dense woods and intersected by rivers & streams with Himalaya at backdrop provides an experience soothing for eye & soul.

While stayed at 'Banani': a WBFDC Tourist Lodge, situated beside Murti River at the fringe area of the National Park, we visited the Park by afternoon Jeep Safari. The safari arranged from the lodge as per government specified rate. Each Jeep accommodates 6 person. The guide do all the formalities at entry point. However, one should keep a Xerox copy of photo identity to avoid any hassle, which requires at the time of tour booking .

There are two watch tower, Jatra prasad (named after one famous captive elephant) & Rhino Point covered in the trip of 2.5 hrs approx. From each of the tower we spotted Rhinos from a distance as well as a herd of bison & few wild boar at one point. Peacocks are abundantly seen throughout the safari. There was arrangement of tribal dance on return of the safari, as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Beside this safari, there are few other spots & watch tower including nearby Chapramari WLS, can also be covered by jeep safari. Each of the spots have their own speciality & charm and worth a visit to have a look of the place in totality. We could not gone for any more trip due to time constraint but have a whole hearted feel what we saw.

Beauty of Dooars
Mar. 2020 • Couples
This forest of Jalpaiguri district is a chosen destination for the nature lovers. With the provision of jungle safary by jeep and elephant, it can be a perfect destination to get a first hand experience of wild life like peacock, elephant, bison etc. Peacocks on the trees welcomed us. We were lucky to have a glimpse of bisons. The tea gardens nearby are a welcome relief for the eyes.

They have normal Jeep Safari and several tower safaris( folk dance also included in evening). I went for jatraprasad tower safari where I was unlucky for not seeing rhinos. Just saw some birds, sambhar, bark deers. But the air inside the dense jungle was so fresh.

Jan. 2020 • Family
A MUST if you are in DOOARS region !
If only for the experience! Don’t expect to see much of wildlife but it’s great jeep ride unto itself ! Do come much early if you want to book the gypsy as only 15 jeeps are per shift and usually are soldout !
We did not see much of wildlife barring few peacock who knows you may be lucky 😊!!!

In forest..what else u expect...peace...
U need to get a jeep and ticket half an hour before the safari. The first one is at 6.30 am.
We couldn't see any animals, as the season has just started.
We stayed at The Reserve Gorumara, it's the best in the area.
