Chinese style shop houses from pre war days very similar to those in Malaysia. Not certain there ever was a Portuguese aspect to these buildings. Not much else to see around there.

This place worth visiting ; there are old buildings, chino/portugese style with daily life, city pillars' shrine is also nearby, wat Phra Maha that is in the vicinity. Many local shops with local products, souvenirs' shop, Vietnamese restaurants can be found in this area.

If you're into old houses (which you can't go into) or Chinese temples (which were closed), this is for you! It'd be better, though, if motor vehicles were banned (except for the residents) and there were a bar (for water for tourists). It's only a...More
