Whilst this is an impressive site there is not a lot of background information or historical reference at the site. It is imposing and commands a view for possibly 30 km all around so it would have been very important in its day. We drove through some delightful villages on the way to it.

the ancient city of Han oy was here about 6th centry to 10th centry , you can only see just pagoda and plaform next to the pagoda , it is about 35 kilomiter from kashgar

It is 40 km from kashgar city and it is a barrn land just by the edge of the oais and desert. once it used to be a city and the mor buddihst pagoda is only what is left and can be seen and also the city of han oy is far on the south of the pagoda and can... More

There are two ruins at Mor Pagoda. You can look at them. Walk around them. Photograph them. Even climb on them. We did not climb on them but Chinese tourists sure were. I suppose you should rush to see this before they are ground to dust by the soles of the shoes of the tourists. To arrive, you must drive... More

Ali Tash organized a car for us to get here, he suggested to go on Saturday to combine this tour with Saturday village market which was great

I loved this place, because although very ruined and right out in the middle of the desert it was possible to imagine all the intrigue of the silk road in years gone by. We had the place completely to ourselves so it is not a frequently visited site. Watch out for snakes though!
