It’s a quiet trip. It’s different from other big cities. The island is very small, and have a little people. I was happen to see a small girl was squatting on the floor sell just out starfish in the island, large and small, neatly placed, the little girl looked at visitors, eyes full of expectation. But seems everyone ignored her,... More

We spent there just couple of hours. It is a big place and to see the whole area would require more time. But in overall it was a nice historical place to visit.

I spent two full days in Penglai. I decided to allot one of those two days for visiting Penglai ge and it was worth the choice. However I have to admit the entrance fee was rather expensive. I spent 140 yuan which I believe to be honestly too much. But from my experience spending quite a lot of bucks to... More

People interested in Buddhist temples would find this attraction interesting, primarily Tao Buddhism. There is an old lighthouse, which i enjoyed seeing, my first in China. Lots of old historic carvings of words and poetry, especially one by SuDongPo, where part of the poem was craved neat and poetic while the rest of the stone was large and almost eligible.... More

Nice historical place, can be quite crowded, it will take pretty much the whole day to finish this place. Entrance fee is required. There are guided tours and buggies (if you pay). You might catch the mirage.

The entrace ticket of Penglaige is quite expensive. But nothing special you can find inside except people squeezing here and there. This place is absolutely not worth for a visit.

This fantastic historical place is well worth spending some hours. There are a lot of history framing the 3 different religions of china, and many good looking statues of the gods. In addition to the various tempels, there are fantastic architecture, so I will recommend walk around and lift your head. Some of the buildings also contains some fantastic art... More

For foreigners, be aware you really need cash to get in to these facilities, however the history is quite amazing and well worth the visit.
