It's a place you can't miss. The walls outside and inside the church are all covered with religious paintings with strong colours. All the space is beautiful.

it's small and cosy, it's not Sucevita Monastery the paintings are well preserved for only half of the walls, but that is not relevant the air is full of a peace feeling, the nuns are so skilled to be guides, the flowers enrich the place.....rest...More
Maybe the least impressive one from all 4 we visited that day as it is a bit smaller and a bit worn out. But still inside the frescoes are amazing and well preserved. The garden are so lovely you can sit and enjoy the view......More
In general it's beautiful, and unique for this region in Romania. Definitely worth to see. We don't pay for the entrance, because nobody was around, but I think there is some small fee for the entrance.
While touring the painted monasteries of Bucovina, we stopped first at Moldovita on our way from Maramures. This monastery is beautiful with lovely paintings, many of which are fading as over time the weather takes its toll on the frescoes which line the monasteries exterior....More
This is maybe the most charming of all the monasteries around. Here we didn't see so many tourists as in other monasteries. But both the exterior and the interior are unforgettable.
We specifically came to the area for the painted monasteries. Since Voronet and Humor were close to Gura Humorului we did those first. We decided to go to Moldovita and then would decide whether we'd make the trip to Suceavita. Well.............we got to the town...More
Not so impresive as other monasteries in the area, Moldovita has it's own beauty that attracts you. A peaceful place, easy to reach.
