I used to live nearby and could never see the attraction of this place. But on a Sunday visit, it was just beautiful with the Christmas lights and tree, fantastic fish & chips and ice cream, and the most amazing red sunset I've ever witnessed. Parking and traffic can be a bit of a pain though.

Parkgate has been a favourite for many years and we were blessed with a pleasant but cool Autumnal day. Parking is much easier at this time of year and the view across the estuary looking over to Deeside and North Wales was clear.

Parkgate promenade is pleasant for a stroll and it is interesting to see the old building, bird life and the views across the Dee estuary. Also nice to pick up an ice cream to enjoy as you walk or sit. My only issue is that I really like to see the waves coming in on a beach and this is... More

There's nowhere quite like Parkgate-this silted river providing a spectacular haven for all sorts of birds. The air is sharp and fresh, the architecture unique and the view of Wales, wonderful. Lovely day out with an "old-fashioned" feel!

On a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon there is no better place on Earth!! Gentle stroll along the "Prom" admiring the view right across the Dee to North Wales. Plenty of places to find something for lunch, today it was the chippie for fish n chips ( subject for another review ) History all over this beautiful place. Strange to think... More

This is a very special place, one I've visited since I was a child. The views over to Wales are incredible and it seems so close especially on a clear day like today. Over the years the river has silted up and now it looks like bog land but I believe a couple of times a year the tide gets... More
