Visited here as a family with a teen son, felt like stepped back in time it is old and quaint. Lovely peaceful location and a special piece of history.

This is a small beach, one of few in the immediate locality, but is away from the deep wharf and commercial fishing. The major beaches are further down the estuary at Southend and Thorpe Bay. Having said that, it is usually very pleasant, but can...More

Very poor- looks like man made beach - very tiny (probably 30 meters long max. Overcrowded No diversity - made to feel uncomfortable.

Bell Wharf beach in lovely Leigh-on-sea proudly carries the no doubt self-awarded prize of best beach 2018. It is a tiny spot of beach in an admittedly scenic location at the wharf and the sailing club of Leigh-on-sea. Don’t walk too fast or you will...More

A lovely little beach at the end of the high street in Leigh-on-sea, but very busy on a hot, sunny day. Facilities are pretty good, but not enough to support the large crowds. The beach has a clean beach rating and looks lovely at high...More

This is a nice old town. At the end theres a small beach. Do take sandles as it’s full of little stones. Being small it means toddlers can’t run to far. Check the tide times if you want the water to be there.

I would say this is just a small beach in old Leigh noting spectacular as there are so many better places amongst the coast line .

A beautiful, albeit a small piece of sandy beach, ideal for the children but adjacent to traditional fishing village Inn's, tea gardens, good restaurants and sea food to die for. Boutique shops and art outlets and only 40 minutes from the city. Leigh station is...More

the beach is a mile or so away from stations and is at the bottom of a hill/slope. Unless you have lots of stamina a taxi would be advisable
