A breath of sea air on a sunny Sunday morning, join the locals and their gorgeous doggies at Sarah's for breakfast (delicious) and stroll along the main street to the sand. Perfect for people watching and contemplating the horizon, love it.

Went there on a hot sunny April weekend afternoon. Absolutely packed and hard to find parking. Found a parking spot and strolled through the village. Stopped at Sara’s Tea Garden for afternoon tea. A pleasant afternoon but packed!

The atmosphere is always amazing. It’s almost like you step back in time. There are families and dogs everywhere! Chips and sea food are great and drink prices are reasonable!

There are four pubs and several eating-places and food kiosks along this stretch of road before meeting a beach of plentiful, high-quality sand. There are also a gallery and a museum with seemingly somewhat variable / infrequent times of opening. For example, on our very...More

We walked all the way from Southend along the Promenade. Quite a bit but a good workout so the lovely Fish and Chips later did not find their way onto the hips...Lovely Little village nice to see.

Recommend by a local resident we bumped into and well worth the visit as it is so nice to find some of the character has survived in the huge urban sprawl. Good walking but you will have to be wary of the dog poo everywhere
