We popped in here for lunch and a walk whilst staying in southend. It is a beautiful town with a lovely coastline and views of the sea and sunset. We had a late lunch at the pub there and it was very good. Worth the short drive or walk from southend! Lovely buildings too.

I moved away from the area nearly 30 years ago and this was my first trip back to Old Leigh. It was a beautiful winter's afternoon with a peaceful sunset, and hardly anybody about. Just right for taking picture. The smells of the cockle sheds and salt marshes brought back the memories of childhood. I loved it!

Leigh on Sea is a wonderful place to live. Plenty to see and do. Eat and drink available at all price ranges. The broadway has a large selection of pubs. Restaurants and shops. Well worth a visit.

In the summer, this is the most beautiful place to walk along and just be there and with so many little eaters and all the fresh seafood it's a stunner and you may be thinking it smells horrible, but surprisingly it doesn't. I hope this place is always there!

Its ok, nice views, but EVERYTHING is over priced and EVERYONE who thinks they are the 'in' crowd pour down there in droves for a 'Cheeky Pint outside the Peterboat'. Much nicer when its quiet.

As somebody from Malta, where we have a good range of old fishing villages, I was pleasantly surprised with this beautiful old street... I felt at home and I dare say that I could feel the history of such a place! It was quiet and the sunset was a spectacle...

Cobbled street, old pubs, plenty of seafood, museum, art gallery and a lovely Thames estuary view. Legends, pirates, witches and the famous ship The Mayflower is said to have stopped in leigh before its historical journey to Plymouth, New England! If you visit Essex, don't miss out on a seaside drink in old Leigh. The view is better when the... More
