If you are visiting Bulgaria you should put Rila National Park in you to do list.
The mountain and the park offer great ways to experience nature in any season. It is easily accessible from Sofia - an hour drive.

It is a beautiful place to visit for sure and it is not challenging so if you have kids over 10 years old will not be a problem. There is a short way and long way. As soon as we got up with the lift...More
Visited Sofia and heard a visit to Rila Lakes was a must for any nature lover! Not being a fan of guided tours, I initially looked into going by public transport but this didn’t seem very straightforward particularly for a day trip there from Sofia...More

The huts offer food, I know that Maljowiza offers different warm meals and drinks, Seven Lakes Hut has some snacks not sure about the others. Within the Nationalpark the water is drinkable so we refilled all the time at the springs. It's impossible to get lost the tracks are very well marked and there are every now and then maps located. We saw a lot of people walking alone, it shouldn't be a problem and it is easy to navigate there.

Hi Asya! As we were hiking with our baby, we did not take the chairlift so we basically started our climb from where we parked the car just adjacent to where the chairlift starts! =) They say the view as the chairlift moves up to the hut is amazing but I say whilst we hiked longer, the experience was AMAZING, so either way, you will have a good time. We've arranged our day hike with bulguides, they've been very helpful and answers any questions you may have efficiently. Highly recommended! I hope this helps and all the best with your trip.
