I think this would be an awesome 2-3 day hike up the mountains. Not just 7 Rila lakes, but further on, to other lakes on the mountains. Please note, this are mountains, poor or no phone signal, proper mountaineering equipment is a must.

We arrived at the restaurant and made the reservation, and then took the walk up to the monastery. Children ages 3, 6.5, 8.5 had a great time (the smallest was in a carrier). The monastery is beautiful. The restaurant is more expensive than the common...More

We caught the chairlift (25 minute ride) to the beginning of this great hike which takes approximately five hours. The degree of difficulty would be moderate. Reasonable shoes/boots are necessary. Most of the walking is on grass but some on rocks and today some mud....More

A must if you visit the country. Beautiful views, mysterious lakes and hidden waterfall. You just need a little walk and good boots. Breath deeply and enjoy !

We took the chair lift to the to the mountain lodge which makes the climb much easier. From here a reasonably fit person should be able to complete the walk to the lakes in 4-5 hours. it is worth the effort!

Hi, Giving a weather forecast in any mountain is always really risky and you should always check before traveling. September generally speaking is a good month but always check the forecast first.
