Awesomely Wonderful Expansive 360 views

Stumbled onto this gem after travelling out to Pulpit (which was closed).

This and the Wind Eroded Cave were great. So remote and untouched by the tourist masses that a resident snake even came out to greet us on the way back down.

Good

Nice short walk to lookout. Pulpit rock is more spectacular in my opinion ( but do both including the wind eroded cave).

A surprise! Stunning Outlook :-)

Dirt road but OK for a 2WD, easy drive and walk to lookout. Wind eroded rock also worth a look, also not far, would suit any fitness level.

Best Vista and Lookout, must do!!!
Aug. 2017 • Friends
This would be the best lookout in the Blue Mtns. 360Deg view of the Grose Valley. Easy walk from the carpark and you get this magnificent vista. Major bonus is the seclusion, no hordes of tourists, complete peace & quite.
TOP TIP, go in the late afternoon to see the sun shining on the sandstone walls of the valley. Also visit Perry's Lookdown nearby.

Grand vista's abound

After a pleasant drive, the last couple on unsealed road. You reach a small car park and a ten minute walk later you come to anvil rock. A short climb up the rock, reveals magnificent 360 degree views. Upon returning to the car park another side trip worth seeing is the massive cliff eroded by the wind. Well worth a look.

My husband and I were looking for an accessible lookout point given I'm in the third trimester of pregnancy. There was a 5km off-road portion to get to Anvil Rock but it was an easy drive. It was a five minute walk to the lookout point. Stunning views and just another amazing vantage point in the Blue Mountains National Park!

An actual anvil!
Mar. 2017 • Friends
A terrific view, just an easy walk down a short trail. This spot offers a great lookout point as good or better than the touristy areas, smaller and without crowds. If you are willing to drive off the beaten path, try this. Also, as a nice bonus, a pair of Lyre birds were enjoying themselves chatting their mimcry songs nearby. You rately hear that much nature at the more publicized spots.

The anvil includes a compass of sorts, showing what you are looking at in all directions.

It's a Real Anvil Baby !
Jan. 2017 • Couples
Don't be put off by the 5 minute sign in the car park, it is an easy 2-3 stroll, watch your steps and enjoy the view , you'll be fine !! The rock looks like an Anvil , but just to be sure they have placed a real one on top as a geodetic marker ! Great view as usual and the wind eroded caves are an east stroll nearby as well ! Turn off on the way back from Perry's Lookdown !

Quiet, scenic, unspoilt

Quiet and very pretty, it's a few minutes walk from the carpark. There are several lookouts in the area and a colorful sandstone rock face.
