There was some snow left when we were there and there were few concrete roads to walk on so it was little slippery and muddy. A great river view and the city view you can have. We saw bunch of koreans walking on the tiny trail on the edge of the castle walls but it looked pretty dangerous for us... More

One of the three kingdoms in Korean history is the Baekje kingdom. There aren't a lot of historical sites and relics from this kingdom so a visit to the Gongsanseong Fortress would be worthwhile. Aside from seeing the beautiful sceneries from the fortress, one can also experience traditional archery for a reasonable price.

1500 years old fortress that offers good views of the town and river with steep hikes along the fence line. Beautiful old structures are scattered around, and probably it is a lot prettier in Spring or Fall. But, we still enjoyed it very much even in winter.

In Korea there are literally hundreds of mountain fortresses like this. What makes Gongsanseong special is that its origin is from Baekje, though how much of these ruins are actually from Korea's Three Kingdom's period could be a matter of debate. Certainly the raised earth to form the fortress was began by Baekje. Older sections of the stone walls are... More

The entire castle is about a 3km walk and as you are walking you can see women inappropriately dressed in high heels walking along with their boyfriends. While some woman maybe dressed like that I don't recommend it as it is more of an easy hike than walking in a city. From the castle you can see the other side... More
