The way up to Axalp is an adventure by itself, 30 min from Brienz. Once reached we were rewarded by a breathtaking view of the mountains and the Lake below. There is a little shop that closes at 17.30 hr. The hiking trails are pretty...More

We stayed in an airbnb for a few days. It had great views, walk up and down the mountain top was scenic and the view of lake Brienz from the mountain was just amazing. The blue color was something to see. We couldn't get enough...More

A nice trail to Lake Hinterburgseeli, with lots of wood carvings along the way. If you take the bus from Brienz make you sure you check the bus schedule because the could be up to 3 hours before another comes along.

Loved this moderate hike to the Hinterburgsee. Discovering the wooden carvings by local artists, along the path was a highlight of the hike. Great experience. Bring food with you, options are limited for purchasing food in the area.

Scary drive up very narrow roads which are not meant for 2 small european cars at the same time. The view along the alpine lake along the way is spectacular, but in my opinion, the drive up is not worth it. The hike to the...More

It is a 1,5 hour walk slightly uphill, from Axalp to the mountain lake. The children will love it because there are about 100 woodcarvings along the path. A lot are cute animals, but also children, people. The lake is beautiful, and you can take...More
