What a beautiful spot nestled between the mountains. The water is the most amazing color! A lovely walkway in town borders the lake and offers a variety of activities as we strolled along the lakeside checking out shops. Statues, fountains, playground activities and games were some of the entertainment along the way. Very comfortable and welcoming. So glad we made... More

We had a wonderful ride on the paddle steamboat Lötschberg. It was free for my mother and I since we had purchased the Swiss Rail Pass. It was a rainy day, so it was a perfect day for a trip like that. The lake is an amazing turquoise blue from the glacial runoff, but it doesn't support much wildlife in... More

Lake Brienz is one of the deep alpine lakes through which the River Aare runs on its journey to join with the Rhine in the north of Switzerland. Its opalescent water is due to the glacial melt-off and it produces several fish species which are good to eat and are served locally

Water is green / turquoise from the suspended rock from melt. Paths are near the lake so you can walk by it. Walked along it in Brienz but rode along it to Interlaken. A wonderful place to visit.

We visited Lake Brienz for one night while on our way home from Austria. The lake is absolutely stunning. One of the most beautiful places we have seen in all of Europe. There is a beautiful walking path that takes you around the lake and also nearby the local shops.

Beautiful blue lake, very nice to stroll along or take a boat cruise! Peaceful, quiet Brienz offers wonderful views across the lake! Make sure you visit Old Town Brienz!

Visiting this lake on early winter is amazing. The color. The contrast between blue turquoise of the water, deep blue sky and white snow in d mountain is magic. This place is so idyllic yet beautiful

Take the old Lake Steamer and make a round the lake full day excursion. Stunning views all around. Take a Lunch break at the nice Grand Hotel Giessbach and continue with your lake trip after that. This is a MUST do when in the Bernese Oberland and starting from Interlaken Alternatively you can make a Lunch stop over also in... More
