Tscharke Wines is an absolute stand out and exceptional winery! The atmosphere is amazing - take time to explore the dynamic set up and vision of the winery. Its unique and classy in every way possible.
Thank you Connie for your warmth and the most unreal wine tasting experience. You set the bar to a new level with your knowledge and passion, giving us such insight to the story behind Tscharke and showing us around the beautiful winery.
Each bottle has a unique story. Wine is delicious and complex and truly great wine.
I love the organic, sustainable and environmental practices adopted by Damien and his team.

We visited the lovely winery at Tscharke's when they opened their doors after harvest for members of their wine club. Love the philosophy of Damien and his small team and their fabulous wines. Great to meet all the team and see the inner workings of the winery. Very relaxed and informal 90 mins and a fabulous tasting at every station. The highlight was meeting Damien in his amazing underground cellar and hearing all about his plans. Top notch wines at a very reasonable price and we are pleased to be able to support Tscharke Wines.

We had the immense pleasure of visiting the Protagonist today. A symbolic name given the fact that in a world where so many vineyards are at the mercy of high chemical use and a low tolerance of the natural processes we find a main player for the environment producing an ethical , skilfully crafted and highly sustainable product, an award winner both in the world of wine making and a champion for the environment. Beware pretenders- organic without certification is not and will never be the real 'thing'. In contrast, proudly displayed at Tscharke is the NASA certification - hard won and hard kept they own it and live by it- the certification underlines this.
Our tasting were orchestrated with finesse by the delightful and passionate Connie. Time and care were taken and we were treated to a genuine experience full of elevated narratives and wonderful diversity in history, tastings and provenance. Thank you , thank you. We walked away with bottles full of passion and celebration of a fine art and a commitment to excellence in every way.

As regular visitors to the Barossa, we wanted to discover a new cellar door and wow what a find! This place is absolutely gorgeous. The cellar door is a storybook chalet and the toilet block is like a gingerbread house. The gardens are special too. We were assisted by Eva the owner who was so lovely and the wine is impressive and so affordable too. We will definitely be returning.

What a gorgeous little place. We booked a tasting, and were blown away by the new- school wines. We were recommended by a young gun winemaker. The wines did not disappoint! Light, bright, fun and ethically sound... and very reasonably priced. Our host was very knowledgeable, funny and engaging. It was a gorgeous day, and a fantastic experience.– needless to say, we came home with a boot full of wine. A definite must, for an off the beaten track cool cellar door .. make sure you book for a seated tasting.

I save my 5 star reviews for the really special places so when we visited here on recommendation, we were so glad we did.
The family vibe is extremely strong here, right down to the staff at the cellar door being very close and familiar with the family and the little stories behind some of the wines make the experience so much more enjoyable.
The cellar door is a lovely, intimate little room reminiscent of a country farm cottage that really adds to the welcoming atmosphere. There is also a lovely outdor seating and lounging area to enjoy a glass of their delicious wines under the trees.
The wines themselves are absolutely lovely and the effort being put into sustainable winemaking was another lus in our books.
All in all it was a really delightful visit and I would recommend anyone visitng the Barossa to drop in.

Two years ago we got there but missed by minutes to closing time. So, we came back to Tscharke to try their wines.
The prices of their wine are almost half of other cellar doors but their wine are not compromised for the prices. Some are young and great to drink now and others like Cab Sauv deserves well noted.
Staff were friendly and knowledgable and the place is just as cute as it looks.

Tscharkes was the last winery on a full day tour of the Barossa. OMG it was an absolute stand out! The cellar door is absolutely gob smacking and the wine was humble and well priced. If you’re in the Barossa, this place is a must.

Recommended by another winery so headed here and wasn't disappointed. Lovely setting both inside and outside. Great selection of wines. you must be hard to please if you don't find something you like. Stop 3 for our day and would go back again.

This is an exceptional winery made all the better for having Damian as our host.
Unpretentious and enthusiastic is the only way to describe the experience.
We were lucky enough to have Damian guide us through the various wines whilst we admired the House and then the exceptional cellar.
A magnificent experience... Many THANKS ERIC

Hi,
Is there an option for public grape picking available
Written 21 April 2017

Thank you for the enquiry regarding public grape picking at Tscharke's Place. Alas, it isn't an option on offer for a number of reasons. We would be delighted though to take you though a very thorough tasting of our wines explaining how each one is made and why we've chosen the varieties we work with.
