This temple is famous for the Yamataka Jindai Sakura, a national natural monument said to be 2000 years old, and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom on April 1st. It is one of the three major cherry blossoms in Japan. The temple grounds are covered with many cherry trees and daffodils, making it a wonderful temple. There are also outdoor stalls. There is a parking lot, so you can go by car. We went there by day trip bus.

山高神代桜は満開でした、他の桜は五分咲きから満開という感じでした。新型コロナの影響で出店はお休みでしたが、空いていてのんびり楽しめました。

樹齢約2000年と言われる神代桜が有名な寺です。寺内からは水仙と桜越しに南アルプスの甲斐駒ヶ岳や鳳凰山の絶景を拝む事が出来ます。

日本三大桜は「三春滝桜、山高神代桜、根尾谷淡墨桜」、中でも北杜市の実相寺境内にある山高神代桜は樹齢から風格を感じさせる。実相寺境内には、三春滝桜、根尾谷淡墨桜、そして山高神代桜の子桜が植えられていて、この場所で見ることができる。
韮崎市の畑の中に一本だけ樹齢３００年のエドヒガンサクラ（鰐塚の桜）が聳えるように咲いている。
この桜は八ヶ岳を背景に見ることができ、多くの写真家が早朝から日暮れまでカメラを構え、時の変化に見せる桜の変化を捉えている。

さくらの時期にいきました。朝から人がいっぱいでした。駐車場500円でした。日本最古といわれる樹齢２せん年の桜の子桜のほうがすばらしかったです。

毎年来ています。今年も元気な姿を見せていただけました。10数年前は出店もほとんど出ておらず、駐車場もタダでしたが、今では観光バスまで来て賑わっています。その収入でだいぶ手入れされたお寺やそのお庭も見ものです。

インターネットでいろいろ調べて・・・・
山高神代桜の情報が
結局随分前の情報だったことに驚きました。
樹齢は1800年以上、
日本最古の桜と言われています。
最盛期には根回り約12ｍ
高さ30ｍ、枝張り東西に27ｍ、南北に31ｍだったそうです。
今は最盛期の半分ほどの大きさですが、
凛と立つ姿は素晴らしかったです。
満開の日でしたが、
桜のピンクと
たくさんの水仙の黄色のコントラストが見事でした。
桜の表示がとても分かりやすかったです。
宇宙飛行士の若狭さんゆかりの桜もあるそうです。

白と黄色のスイセンと満開の桜、向こうに見えるアルプスの山々。本当に綺麗。
お寺の敷地内なので、皆さん景色を楽しみながらのんびり散策したり、立ち止まって写真をとったり。敷地外に幾つかの出店があり、軽食ならそこでとることができそうです。
お寺から少し離れた駐車場に停めましたが、ベビーカーでのお散歩にちょうどいい距離です。
駐車料金も300円と良心的。
開花情報は北杜市のHPで確認できます。
東京ではお目にかかれない絶景を見ることができました、大満足です。
