I am a big fan of a good waterfall and this one is amazing. It falls into a nice secluded area and it seems to not be a very visited location so you can sometimes be there by yourself. It's just off the road and very easy to get to for people with accessibility needs. There's also a path you... More

If you are in Yakushima, it's really worth it. Enjoyed seeing deers in the surroundings. Driving there is a bonus.

Lovely waterfall after the previous day's heavy rain, easy to get to if you do not have a car as it is close to the bus stop.Just watch the bus timing as there are fairly big gaps in the schedule ,like 3-hours. I got there at 10.20 and came back on the 11 am bus and had plenty of time... More

We came here by car and it was just a short ride from the main road on Yakushima. My boyfriend had the idea of taking a swim here. So he got in and tried to swim towards the waterfall (we were alone), which didn't really work out, the stream was to strong. A bus with a load of teenagers came... More

I went there by bicycle and the view of the waterfall was beautiful. You can go very near and feel the water falling down. There are huge rocks around fall, good to make a nice pick-nick experience. The easiest way to get there is with car, but its also reachable by bus.

This waterfall is on the southwest side of the island, and while it is possible to get a bus there and back, they can be infrequent, so be sure to check the timetable very carefully. The waterfall lands on a rocky basin and you can climb around on the rocks and the side of the cliff if you're agile enough.... More

We visited Oko Fall during a rainy season after a rain so there was a lot of water to the extent it was causing a wind. It was very impressive but was hard to climb up onto the rocks. Near the waterfall bus stop, you can collect spring water, supposedly one of best waters in Japan.

...But if you bring your swimming trunks (which I didn't) why not go for a swim. Be careful on the slippery rocks though.

This place is great - it's nice if you can get there without too many other people around. For the best experience, climb up onto the rocks and let the mist from the falls hit you.
