There are so many walks/hikes ranging from 20 mins to 10 hours. This is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Options include short-long hikes or just have a picnic at the waterfall on he rocks at the very bottom. Even the drive...More

After a long hike from shiratani all the way to jomon sugi the previous day my friend and I were looking for an easier path to continue exploring the forest. Yakisugi land is perfect for this goal. You can pick 30, 60, or 120 minute...More

If you love cedar trees, this is definitely the place for you! There was a landslide in one section of the long walk so you can't do a proper loop but i don't think we missed out on much. It's was a good first hike,...More

We did a hike here in wet and drizzly cool weather. The terrain is hilly and slippery, so being fit and properly kitted out is important. There is a path for tourists but to see the less touched forest is the highlight. The path leads...More

This is the place to experience walking amongst the grand old Cedar trees of Yakushima Island. I would recommend hiking attire and poles to hike round the entire route to really appreciate the wonderful scenery.

The drive up to this site is on a road that is one lane in parts. You compete with buses as well. It is worth seeing. Saw quite a few of the local monkeys on the way up. The drive scared my wife. It was...More

You can chose a suitable length of course for yourself. There was a mudslide due to the previous storm which blocked the longest course, so we took the mid-length. We were far from fit but the walk was enjoyable at our own pace. Next time...More

We hiked up to Tachu Dake on the same day as our plane departure, so to add a level of security to our day we hired a hilarious, delightful guide from YesYakushima to take us up here. He picked us up from our Minshuku Suimeiso...More

Typhoon Noru was approaching Yakushima on our first full day on the island. We took the local bus to Yakusugi-Land in the morning and were able to do the longest course despite the heavy winds and the rain thanks to the very well maintained trails....More

I have seen many forests, but none was like that one. You walk in the moss and see cedars thousand years old. You think you walk through a forest cathedral. Simply great!
