I went at to Shiibae in early april. The whole park is full of hedges that bloom with red-pink Tsutsuji (azaleas). There is a festival of sorts that happens there while they are in bloom, although there is mostly just some fried food stands and shaved ice. There are also some Yaezakura (cherry blossoms with many layers of petals) there... More
