The mausoleum is a few minute walk off the main street of Koya. The mausoleum buildings are beautiful decorated. Access is limited. Worth the walk? Yes. A disaster if you miss it? No.

Two old mausoleum buildings in a small yard that is not well maintained... Takes about 2 minutes to visit while getting charged 200JPY per person. Complete rip off.

Very ornate and beautiful buildings. This is small site, but the details of the buildings are very intricate and worth seeing.

Because of the history I'd recommend visiting this place but... I don't know. If it was anyone less influential I'd say it wasn't worth it. It's very small. I'd seen everything there was after about two minutes. It's not particularly expensive but there you go....More

Big fan of historical Japanese events and fiction. Thought this place was a bit of a ripoff, two mausoleums which are locked but you can walk around. If I wasn't such a fanboy of Iesayu I would have been in-and-out in under 5mins, interesting history...More

Walk via the UNESCO world heritage cemetery for 2 km to get to mausoleum. Just relax and enjoy the peaceful forest. The actual temple is only just a small part of the experience. Sit and watch.
