最近ピラミッド古墳として有名になりました
石舞台古墳から見えていますが
歩くと意外と遠い、10分強くらいかかります
途中に標識がありますが畑の真ん中にぽつんとたっているので
たどり着けると思います

石舞台古墳から５００ｍほどのところにあります。
現状は調査後に埋め戻されていますが、方形の古墳で大きさは41×42ｍ、高さは4.5ｍ
、表面は4段に階段状に積み石がなされた「階段ピラミッド」状で日本にはほとんど見られない形状だそうです。被葬者は蘇我稲目（蘇我馬子の父）との説もあります。
石室には家形石棺があります。

時間があったので、石舞台古墳からお散歩がてら行きました。看板があるので問題ないですが、田畑に溶け込んでいるので、見落とし注意です。
車で行ってたら、気づかなかったかもしれません。
上に登れるような感じもありましたが、雑草が生い茂っていて断念。3分程で帰りました。

石舞台古墳の近くです。中には入れませんが、石室と石棺がセットで見れる古墳で、こんな風に埋葬されていたのか～というのがよくわかります。周りの古墳よりも高台にあるという印象です。蘇我稲目のお墓といわれているそうです。

蘇我氏は朝鮮半島渡来人のながれです。神道対仏教の対立で仏教普及させてかなり神道がやられた。日本古来の神代文字も蘇我氏によってやられた。大切な天皇記や国記も蘇我氏によって焼かれた。
我が国にとっては渡来人蘇我氏は悪いことのほうが圧倒的に多い。

５月連休の晴天の一日、石舞台の近くへ。石舞台そのものは１回、見ればもう十分。ここは観光客がぞろぞろいるから避けて、その上の坂道に沿って集落がポツポツと点在する場所まで行って見たら、「都塚古墳」と称する小さな古墳が坂道の途中にあった。説明版によると、古墳の構造は階段状の石積みで作られたものでユニークらしい。しかし現在、その上には土がかぶせられ、こんもりとした膨らみのように見える（ツツジの木が並んでいる）。古墳のなかを見ると石室、その中に収められている石棺の姿が良く見えた。古墳の上にあがってみたら、そこは格好の展望台。この辺はこんな魅力いっぱいの「隠れた展望台」があちこちにある。

石舞台古墳の奥にある古墳です。石舞台から徒歩で5分ぐらいです。駐車スペースはないので徒歩かレンタサイクルがベターです。
専門家ではないので詳しいことはよくわかりませんが、珍しい形の古墳のようです。石室ものぞくことができます。

2017年11月中旬の平日に訪れました。
宿泊先の祝戸荘に荷物を置いた後、石舞台古墳へ歩いて行く途中で
観光案内標識が見えたので、立ち寄る事にしました。
ひっそりとしていて、荘厳な雰囲気の中に佇んでいます。
歴史上の重要人物に関係する建造物というもの納得です。
周辺も自然豊かで、当時の豪族の権勢を感じられます。
飛鳥や明日香のマニアックな人にはおススメです。

ピラミッド型の方墳が話題になり一時は全国的に人気になった都塚古墳。その形は高句麗19代王の好太王、20代の長寿王、また百済の13代目の王の古墳とそっくりで朝鮮半島の影響を受けている。
また蘇我馬子の墓とされている石舞台古墳を見下ろす位置にあること、近くには渡来人の子孫である鞍作多須奈(息子は飛鳥寺の釈迦如来像、法隆寺の釈迦三尊像を作った鳥仏師)が建立した坂田寺があったことからして、都塚古墳の主は自らも朝鮮からの渡来人を妻にした馬子の父、稲目ではないかと推定されるとのこと。
今は小山に過ぎない都塚古墳の上に立ち、周りを見ながら古代の光景とアジアとの交流を感じて頂きたいと思います。

石舞台古墳の近くにある小さな古墳です。階段ピラミッド型の古墳として話題になりましたが、遺構は埋め戻されていて実際に見ることはできませんでした。
