神社には多くの文学碑がありました。小坂井不木がかかわる「ねんげ句会」の作品が多くあります。文学の盛んな土地柄を感じさせます。でも、句の説明がみられなかったのは残念でした。

近鉄蟹江駅から徒歩20分ぐらいかかります。蟹江の水郷風景を詠んだ句碑が合計26基あります。また、この南には文学散歩道があって地元の人たちの俳句が掲げられているほか、終点には蟹江を「東海の潮来」と愛したという文豪吉川英治の句碑もあります。散歩道は桜並木が続き、春には特にオススメで、人も多くない穴場スポットだと思います。

鹿嶋神社境内に蟹江町にゆかりのある著名人や俳人の句碑が26基あります。境内はひっそりしており、静かに時間が流れるのを感じられました。
