This beach is characteristic to the area- a nice sand beach that would be wonderful in summer. It's less famous than the other beaches around shimoda so it might also be less crowded in season. It's a stop on the bus that goes to Irozaki cape from Shimoda.

Stunning beach. Its far from a train station which means you need a car or bus. The reward for the longer journey means a lovely peaceful beach. Worth a visit. Skip the beaches near Shimoda and try this jewel of a beach. Nice walks nearby too.

Really nice clean curved beach with low surf. Great for kids as its shallow for quite a way out. Even though it was holiday season it wasn`t too packed. Many people do smoke on the beach which is disgusting and the food nearby is below average so bring your own.

Here the beach was perfectly quiet with just a gentle swell splashing on the shore. Although it was early May the water was very nice for swimming - at least... More
