We took our 7 & 4 year olds here and made salt as well as painted stained glass. All the workers were incredibly nice and helpful. They did their best to explain things to us despite the language barrier and we're very friendly. The sea salt making took about 40 minutes from start to finish. You choose the pottery to... More

Found Gala Aoiumi from Okinawa's various travel websites (that includes downloadable coupons for discounts on activities and snacks). Because we were taking public transportation, I wanted to make sure it was worth the walk from the bus station. At the time there wasn't much written about it here so I left a message at the forum asking if anyone had... More

Good location and ocean view, a standard souvenir that features a variety of salt, Ice cream shop that's pretty good, Ryukru galss shop where you can make your own glass for prices from 2500 yen to 3300 yen plus extras if you want, they also had some unique glassware and glass art which we bought a couple pieces, a small... Buy tickets at Gala, make your way down the hill and you will find a place called Sea Seed. Sea seed shows you the different stages of coral growth in their efforts of conservation. The coral is beautiful and depending on the season, they may have baby sea turtles (my favorite part). They also have a few touch tanks to... More

the place gives good view on the ocean and shore. not too much to do with the salt making in fact, just a very small scale facility is show-cased. it carries ceramic-making and glass-making workshop, a place you can plan to spend 40-60 mins.

Very nice glass blowing experience. Staff were all very nice and patient. There're a vast choices of colors and patterns you can choose for your final product. They also have lessons for pottery, salt making and even scuba diving too. This place also got an awesome sea view and very serene and chill environment.

Off the beaten path, but worth the trip. At the swa salt factory you with help from a very pleasant staff member boil sea water until salt appears. Then you transfer to a cute little pottery jar and take home a little hand made souvenir from Okinawa. Be surw to visit the local pottery community in the arwa.

We came here just to make our own sea salt. The water they give you has already been condensed 7 times hence it only took 30 minutes to make the sea salt. Actually I was quite amazed that we were able to make the sea salt so quickly because there were so much water. The sea salt was very fine... More

Come here for 2 things: 1. DIY salt (1500 yen - takes 30mins) 2. Scenic view Other than the above 2 items, I really cannot think of anything interesting for me to make this trip.
