A beautiful spot to visit in Nozawaonsen. I visited several times during my week there and only ever saw one or two other people. I was hoping to see some locals cooking there but missed out on that. There’s not really anything to do there...More

This onsen area is very close to the central village and temple area. Area is reserved for local villagers. Local shops sell food items and some souvenirs. This is a must see if visiting Nozawa.

Came though here one night during our stay in Nozawa Onsen, observed the villagers boiling their dinner in the public hot spring, chatting away or quietly drinking a beer.
