We booked the 4.30pm tour and our guide Taka met us promptly. We were the only two people on the walking tour of the town. We walked for 90 minutes around the town and Taka provided lot’s of information with a good sense of humour. If you want to know more about the village I would definitely recommend it.

What a wonderful experience we had with Taka on a 3 hour snowshoe tour. She was an amazing guide, informative, interactive, and a bonus is that her English is perfect. It was our first time snowshoeing and we did not find it challenging. On an unexpected break, Taka provided warm drinks and snacks. I sense that she tailors the tour to individual groups, as we had plenty of time to stop and play in the snow. Overall an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to take a break from skiing!

Instruction was easy. Mountainside was beautiful. Taka is a very knowledgeable and able guide. The pleasure of the snow and her comments about the animal life and the trees made for a wonderful adventure!

We were looking for alternative activities while in Nozawa Onsen. Taka’s snowshoeing tour was brilliant. Taka really understands the environment and explained so much about the area. Taka took us through fresh snow and we experienced a side of Japan we had never seen before. It was quiet, fun and informative. We will definitely be joining Taka again when we travel to Nozawa Onsen again.
Thank you Taka for making this trip to Japan so enjoyable and memorable.

This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I was pregnant so couldn’t snowboard but am still fit and wanted to experience the mountain and the fresh air. We had a meter of snow! Taka was such a lovely guide and stopped often to tell me things about the trees, animals and village (and also give me a rest 😅). The views and the serenity of walking through the mountains with no one around was just amazing. I paid for two people to go just by myself and it was worth every penny and more. If your partner is snow boarding or skiing and you don’t ski but want adventure or you just want a great new adventure. Don’t hesitate. Thank you so much Taka. X

We met Taka on a cold snowy night for the walking tour of Nozawa Onsen. Her welcome warmed us up and we thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour which explained some of the history and customs of the town, especially the Fire festival.

We couldn’t recommend Taka san enough. We had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with her snow shoeing. Everything was perfection from the moment of booking to the time when, sadly, our time together came to an end. To describe Taka san in short, she’s professional, knowledgeable and fun. We loved that she informed Ski Patrol that we were going out of bounds at the starting our trek - that’s year’s working Ski Patrol for you. We also loved the insights provided as we made our way through the forest - dangers to avoid as well as the notable flora and fauna around. Anyhow, I could go on endlessly but instead I will simply relay that when next in Nozawa Onsen we’ll be booking time with Taka san.

Taka's walking tour is a great way to learn about Nozawa Onsen village. With quick wit and stories abound, Taka will show you around and help you discover easily overlooked gems of this gorgeous village. The Dosojin Fire Festival is especially a topic Taka is passionate about. Well worth joining her 1-hour walking tour.

Taka took us on a 3 day mountain adventure. She taught us loads of mountain skills and provided equipment that was safe and easy to use. Taka is very knowledgable about the area, interesting insights into Japanese culture and friendly to have on a multi day trip. She was organised and booked beautiful hotels with relaxing onsens. Her communication before and during the trip was excellent. We felt happy and relaxed throughout. Taka took us to a mountain hut where we saw the sunrise over Fuji. A highlight of the year!
