Loved this ski area at Goryu. The snow elsewhere was getting thin but still great here. The Gondola ride was great. Good beginner slopes and other challenging slopes for those who were so inclined. Food was good and reasonably priced. Would come back here again.

As expected, there was not a heap of snow that had fallen when we got there but we were still able to have a fun time with lovely groomed runs. There was not much available for tree skiing or skiing through the gates as they...More

What a surprise powder up top sunshine. Many of the lifts are older style doubles but a nice gondola takes you up to alps 360 area. Many of the runs are short but when combined with Hakuba 47 you can do some long trips to...More

We traveled early in the season (between Xmas and NY) so the snow was sparse and only half the mt was open but the lines for lifts were still ridiculously long - we had to wait around 30mins just to take a chair back up...More

Very gentle beginner slopes at the bottom; there is a children's and "first timers" area too. A large center at the bottom caters for cafes, restaurants, ski hire and ticket sales. A few restaurants along the side of the lower runs also caters for lunchtime.

Happo is the place to start but goryu has its own charms for a day or 2. 3 different start /pickup spots (which can be a bit confusing for those not in the know!). Solid intermediate runs, green runs lower down tend to be a...More

I was in the fresh powder at Happo47 on the day my daughters went to Happo Goryu. (Read my report on that mountain) My daughters went to Happo Goryu to have a powder lesson on their snowboards and had the best time ever!

In the immediate area Hakuba Goyru there is a temple and trail to walk. Ease of this will be determined by how much snow remains. Hakuba Happo is main area a short shuttle bus away. There are a number of Onsen's to visit... More
