Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a sightseeing boat that departs from Mikuni Port in the Cape Ogon area of the Shakotan Peninsula.
Perhaps for safety reasons, it seems that trips are canceled quite frequently due to bad weather.
The day we visited, it was raining heavily due to a typhoon, but fortunately the boat set sail.
The fare is 1,900 yen, but there was a discount with AEON Card, so it was 1,750 yen.
More than half of the passengers were Chinese groups.
They could do whatever they wanted.
As we departed from Mikuni Port, we first passed by the heart-shaped Treasure Island and the seagull-shaped Gome Island.
As we went out to sea, we moved to a seat at the bottom of the boat and looked at the sea urchins on the seabed.
The crew said, "The visibility is pretty good today."
There were lots of sea urchins.
On the way back, we were given some bread crusts and fed the seagulls in the pouring rain (fee included).
However, most of the seagulls didn't come to us, and instead just picked at the bread that had fallen into the sea.
Each group was given a bowl's worth of bread crusts, but the Chinese group was not satisfied and angrily demanded more.
Overall, it was a fun cruise, as we got to see the sea urchins on the seabed and feed the seagulls.

Great tour with beautiful views, some underwater action and the feeding of a flock of seagulls. Money well spent. The tour guide only speaks Japanese but that doesn't take away from the experience. Note that the experience is probably greatly dependent on the weather conditions.

The ride was really good. They have an underwater deck, which does not have a glass bottom but rather has square windows at knee level.
One of the highlights of the trip was the seagull feeding. Bowls of bread strips were passed out and you could feed the seagulls from your hand. This was optional; you could also just sit inside the boat near the driver or in the lower deck.
Seagulls came quite close but only at the end of the tour.
Around 10 min before the call time a large tour bus with many people arrived, so I suggest entering the boat 11 or 12 minutes before call time to get good seats before the majority of the people arrive.
Even if you do arrive after the tour bus comes (but before the call time of course) there are plenty of seats in the lower deck and some on the upper deck. The seats don't really matter, and we stayed on the lower deck for almost the entire ride apart from the seagull feeding. Around 10 minutes before the seagull feeding there are many beautiful rock structures which the boat passes by which are perfect for photos.

I went on this glass boat tour only because the tour bus stopped here for 1 hour, with nothing to do other than the boat ride. The glass boat takes you around some shallow ocean to see the ocean floor. The outside view is better than that. If you want to feed seagulls, they give you bread to feed the flock of birds that will swarm the boat. It's like the Alfred Hitchcock;s movie The Birds. I almost lost my phone taking pictures as the birds thought it was bread.

(early July-2015)
It was a wonderful experience, getting to feed umineko (black tailed gull). Bread crumbs are provided by the cruise on our way back.
The whole cruise takes 50 minutes. We were there early, n got to board the 2nd scheduled cruise for the day. There are a row of stall selling raw sea urchin (uni), squid, potato n dry, salted fishes close by. Food can be eaten there as well. Parking space is ample in the front of the ticketing office. Toilet facility on the side of the building.
Highly recommended to visit in morning hours.
