Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a lovely afternoon swimming at the beach. Nice sand and water was warm. Definitely make sure you do the headland walk as seeing the kangaroos is great and the views are beautiful.

This beautiful beach deserves 5 stars for being family friendly and just perfect with one very important caveat. The people who use the dog free side of the beach WILL NOT PICK UP AFTER THEIR DOGS. I asked one guy to pick up after his cattle dog pooped right next to a family of young kids. I thought he was going to kill me.
Even worse - people who put their plastic bags full of dog poop on the beach and then 'forget' to pick it up. Eight tonnes of plastic dumped into our oceans every day - way to go adding to that. One evening, the kids and I picked up about 11 bags from the beach. It was just so off and so unfair to the people who live there.
We have two dogs. Few things more beautiful than watching them run free and splashing in the water. Few things more disgusting than stepping on dog poop or watching it wash into water that children are swimming in. Seriously, visitors - we can all do better.

We rented a house (Pandamas on Emerald)for a 3 night stay, recently, the location was excellent, being the first house next to the beach and park , although the house looks a bit dated from the outside the interior was excellent ,being clean and very well appointed with all you needed ,for a family stay, only bring food and toys,
The only criticism we have is that the property was not maintained very well with loose door locks ,windows that could not be opened ,and one that could not be closed in wet weather, and the carpet adjacent to the sliding door in the games room was wet and actually growing moss in one corner, from being wet for some considerable time. Some maintenance was required!

Such a beautiful beach. In the 80's we came to the caravan park alongside and have not been back since. Stunning view along the coast. There is an area for dogs too.

Beautiful small town worth your stop in from Coffs or Grafton. The headland walk is beautiful and worth an hour or more of your time.

It’s time to visit a couple of beaches, our first stop being Emerald Beach which seems to be a popular surfing beach, there were about 20 people out waiting for a decent wave so finding somewhere to sit in the sun it was pleasant spending time watching their efforts. There are steps leading up of the beach where there seems to be a walk way out to the headland, there are also quite a few cafes behind the beach in town.

Wow what an amazing beach this was we were there later in the afternoon and there was not a single person around we had the beach to ourselves. It was pristine and would gladly send all my friends there to enjoy.

Look at me now headland walk. The walk can be accessed via stairs from the beach when the tide is out, or from Dammerel Crescent where there is a car park.
You can do all or just part of the walk which takes in beautiful coastal views. To do the whole walk, which is a loop walk, will take around 30-45minutes.
Emerald Beach is a lovely spot to spend your day, whether swimming or just relaxing, or maybe a walk along the beach. If you walk north, there is a track that will take you to the adjoining Fiddamans Beach which is also part of the Solitary Island beach walk.

This beach and surrounds stole my heart. I found a fab Airbnb (the havens), and visit solo here every few years. It's my getaway secret. The water, the views the capacity for it to fill my heart. This is a special place.

A lovely beach for a relaxing time with the family. The kids had fun digging holes and making sandcastles and the waves were great for bodyboarding.
