About
Kacaba Vineyards Winery is a premium winery located on prime bench land of The Niagara Escarpment in Vineland, ON. In 1997 Michael Kacaba launched Kacaba Vineyards; saving the Escarpment Benchland from a developer’s bulldozer. Today, Michael and his team craft a full range of wines, including their highly awarded estate grown Syrah (Ontario’s oldest plantings.) Smaller batch sizes assure that the Winemaker's focus is placed on producing wine of merit, with emphasis on creating wines rich in aromas, deep in color and character with velvety finishes. With a view across Lake Ontario to Toronto, guests are welcome to sample wines with multiple awards from Canadian & International competitions. The wine boutique is open daily. Call or book your visit online.

Our visit started bumpy when I admitted to mistakenly reserving the wrong number in our party. When one host went off to make arrangements, he complained loudly about the situation and I wonder about this unprofessional passive-aggressiveness.
Once we were greeted by Julia however, everything improved. She led us into a wonderful spacious tasting room properly distanced and clean. Her greeting and information about Kacaba was informative and interesting. The wines were tasty and simple, with just the right note of subtlety for wines like riesling and wonderful complexity for the cab syrah.
But the highlight of the visit was definitely Julia. She was patient and knowledgeable and very engaging. I see past positive reviews which confirms she is a great asset to Kacaba!

This was the first stop of our wine weekend and with good reason! We discovered Kacaba about 6 years ago after hearing about them from another winery (pro tip: always ask your wine maker what other wineries they are loving – you’ll get some exciting new ones to try). We booked online as per the “new normal” and after a smooth check-in with contact tracing we had a tasting table to ourselves with Emma. Emma is the newest member of Kacaba but don’t be fooled…she’s been customer and advocate of the winery for many years and she knows her stuff!! She instantly picked up on our tastes, our passion for food and wine pairings and honestly it was the perfect tasting experience. We never felt like she was talking down to us…we also didn’t feel like she was reading from a brochure – it was genuine and just the right information for us. The newly expanded building is beautiful…the outdoor space was a great touch. When we were ready to buy our case we had people helping us before we even left our chair. I’d say in our almost 90 minutes there we met and were helped by no less than 5-6 people – the staff here is friendly and passionate about their wine and I am grateful for it! This will always be a MUST STOP for us when visiting the Niagara area.

This past weekend my husband and I visited Kacaba Vineyards and had an exceptional experience! We pulled up to see stunning vineyards and a gorgeous Mediterranean style building. Despite the fact that we arrived close to closing time and didn't have a reservation (reservations are highly recommended!!!), the winery graciously accommodated us. Joe S. led us through a fabulous tasting - his enthusiasm and passion for the wine shone through, and he had lots of information to share about the winery's history. He was warm and personable and made us feel right at home. The service alone would have made me a lifelong fan of Kacaba, but the cherry on top was how good the wine is! From dry Rosé to buttery Chards, from Bordeaux style blends to a stand out Cab Franc, each wine boasts a distinctive and mouth-watering flavour. We took some bottles home with us, and can't wait to return for more!

Can’t say enough good things about our tasting experience at Kacaba! Mark was a wonderful, entertaining and engaging host, guiding us through their exceptional wines. I really respect this winery for doing a proper tasting, in the sense that you are able to sample whatever catches your interest (and are not faced with the task of trying to narrow down to just 3 selections). Also appreciate that the tasting fee is waived with a two bottle purchase (which was not a problem… we left with a case, fell in love with several of their offerings). We’ve been to loads of wineries in the area, this is definitely on our list of favourites. We look forward to our return!

It's clear that the minute you arrive, and are greeted, at Kacaba Vineyards, two things are a priority: the guest and the wine.

Kacaba's team makes every effort to educate the guest on the craftsmanship, care and processes involved in making its award winning wines. No detail is overlooked, and the staff never rush guests through a personable wine tasting experience.

The winery's portfolio is simply the best in Ontario. Each wine is crafted to quality and it shows. Currently, Kacaba is doing great work with their Syrah lineup, and Cabernet lineup.

My personal favourites?
2019 Reserve Riesling
2016 Cabernet Franc

Kacaba Vineyards also focus on being a sustainable winery and being environmentally conscious in the production of its wines.

Enjoy!

My partner and I spent a weekend trying new wineries and exploring the Bench area. We are experienced wine enthusiasts who are quite familiar with Niagara on the Lake, but had never spent much time in the Bench. Kacaba winery was one of our favourite stops on this weekend. From booking our appointment to the tasting to leaving with a few bottles, we had nothing but the best experience and service. Mark gave us an excellent tasting experience, and took the time to find out what we were interested in (big, bold, beautiful reds!) -- of which Kacaba has plenty of. The only concern we had was how many bottles of wine we couldn't help but purchase! Definitely a must-stop spot if you're looking for friendly and knowledgeable service and some outstanding wines. We will definitely visit again.

We were a group of three and set up our own wine tour. We usually visit the Niagara region several times a year, but this was our first visit in almost a year. This was the first of five winery visits that were completed this trip. The facilities are impressive. We did not make a reservation for this tasting visit and we were taken in upon arrival - excellent. The tasting was conducted indoors and the associated tasting fees are reasonable. Joe was our host for this visit and he was AMAZING. He was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic with respect to the history of the winery and each of wine varietals that we tasted. While white wines are available for tasting this winery is known for reds, and they did not disappoint. An outstanding experience this visit – one of the very best experiences, ever. We did purchase several bottles at the wine shop at the end of the tasting. We will definitely return for another visit in the future.

My aunt and I visited Kacaba for the first time and we were delighted with our experience. We were greeted by friendly staff and Julia was conducting our wine tasting. She was friendly, personable and very knowledgable. Both my aunt and I aren’t big wine drinkers so Julia asked our likes and dislikes and catered to our exact tastes. While we were doing our tasting an older couple came for a tasting and it was clear that Julia catered to their palettes respectively as well, they seemed to really enjoy her energy and you could tell that Julia adapted to each customer’s unique needs.

Thanks to the friendly staff, and beautiful vineyard, we will definitely be visiting Kacaba again.

We went to Kacaba on Canada long weekend for wine tasting, my sister is their wine subscription member. It made for a very well used Saturday. Everyone at the winery were great, I had a bunch of questions and David MacCallum was only too happy to answer and explain away their history. Their chief winemaker Vadim Chelekhov has amassed quite a bunch of accolades for this winery making it a great winery to choose subscription with. We were served by Colin Parcher who went out of his way to explain each wine we were tasting and is my sister’s fav sale rep to reach out to. Overall a 5 star service and 5 star event. Highly recommended
