We were hoping to be able to spend more time here but only managed an hour before they closed for the day. The falls are easily accessible by concrete steps and parking area has bathroom/changing facilities. We swam and relaxed in the water which was...More

We wanted to see a waterfall while visiting the north west Costa Rica, and after some research found Llanos de Cortez Waterfall (just outside of Liberia). We rented a car at the JW Marriott and drove about 2 hours to view this spectacular waterfall! There...More

This was my favorite experience in Costa Rico. You walk down about 1/2 mile of stairs to a beautiful waterfall and large pool of water. The water was cold. We got close enough to the waterfall to feel the spray from the water. The walk...More

We took a local bus to Llanos de Cortés waterfalls, about 20 minutes from Liberia (710C = colones = +/- 1$US). From there you have to walk about 20 minutes. The entrance fee of this park is 7$US (4$US for students) and it’s absolutely NOT...More

This place is also known as Catarata Falls. it is a spectacular place to spend a few hours and cool off with a nice swim. I sense that this waterfall used to be somewhat of a hidden gem that has become much more popular. It...More

I did it with bad knees (knee replacement scheduled in 1 wk and the other in 3 mo!) but my husband was there to assist! The gravel path is pretty flat overall and the steps have some rocks to grab.
